I don’t usualy write reviews but I rely heavily on them. This knife was worth writing about.

I work as a power lineman and in that trade you almost always need a sharp knife on you. After trying many brands and styles I’ve been using this knife for the last 3 years.

The best feature in my opinion is the knife is easily opened and closed with gloves on. I work outside and with high voltage so there’s times I need to access the knife quickly with large bulky rubber gloves on. The grips, assisted open and closing mechanism make this knife easy to use one handed with gloves on. That alone is a huge positive.

Also the blade lasts. It stays sharp long and is easily sharpened or you can send it back and they will sharpen it. Personally I’ve never needed there customer service but my coworker had to send the knife back and he said the interaction was top notch.

I actually life this knife better than the more expensive models I’ve owned because they have thinner metallic grips whereas this has the composite grips that are larger and fit better in your hand/work well with gloves on.

All around excellent knife and excellent company. Must buy totally worth the price in fact it’s a steal.

The pros: Perfect size and a comfortable fit in the hand as an EDC for either sex. The assisted open is the perfect smooth speed. The lock on it once it opens, is absolute. Easy enough for women with smaller hands to learn to close one handed. Very discreet carry in Jeans pocket. I Love the black non-reflective blade. The back serrated edge of the blade is razor sharp.. which brings me to the
Cons: The knife arrived razor sharp straight out of the box. I could not leave well enough alone.. I had to see if I could make it sharper. This is not a blade that you can sharpen with a pull thru. It would be better than a dull blade, but be advised.. buy the Spyderco sharpmaster, or learn to use stones. Kitchen knives are fine with a pull thru because they’re quick and handy and you can do it daily, but not all knife blades take kindly to them, and I have very good pull thru sharpeners. In my opinion, this blade razor sharp or not, is a little too short for having the serrated edge on it. Granted, it makes it more all purpose, which is why I opted to buy it. I just prefer a longer straight blade portion. I will throw this in my backpack once it is resharpened properly, and probably buy a full straight bladed blur or another Kershaw of similar type as my EDC. I also need to move the clip to the other end of the knife and need to buy the tool for that.
I am a backwards woman I guess because it would be easier for me, although I am right handed, to have the option of the clip being on the opposite side rather than just the opposite end. I think this has more to do with having short fingers than anything, but not positive.
So my only cons for this knife are all personal preferences. It is a fantastic knife, it is a Kershaw, and would be hard to beat at a fairly higher price. For an EDC, it’s a great choice.

Best knife I’ve ever owned in over 35 years of owning pocket knives. Period.

If you must know more than that, here it is: I was a Gerber knife fan for years, but I realize now that I just didn’t know any better. Several years ago, my girlfriend bought me a Kershaw folding knife with a built-in driver with #1 and #2 flat and phillips drill bits. It was cheap, but it was utilitarian and served it’s purpose. It was a $10 sale item at W@L-M@rt that she had put in my stocking for Xmas. Anyway, it quickly replaced my Gerber because the thing was razor sharp out of the box and held it’s edge much longer than the Gerber I was always having to sharpen. Anyway, the belt clip on the cheap Kershaw was coming loose after a couple of years of regular use (still not bad for $10!) so I started searching for a replacement, a Kershaw of course, and I found this Kershaw 1605CKTST Clash Folding Knife with SpeedSafe (2-Step Serration) on Amazon…I always buy a knife with a partially serrated blade because it makes the knife much more versatile for different cutting needs. This thing has not disappointed.

The SpeedSafe open assist is amazing! It opens lightning fast with the push of the very well placed flipper, located on the back spine of the knife. Works MUCH better than the little knob that most “quick opening” knifes have on the blade itself.

Like I said, it holds an edge better than (pretty much) any knife I have ever owned, especially for the $30 I paid for it.

It is easy to sharpen. I use the Smith’s PP1 Pocket Pal Multifunction Sharpener that I bought here on AMazon. It was cheap and gets the job done, and has the taped diamond rod for sharpening the serrations.

It has a decent weight to it, and feels like a quality product.

The belt clip works great, and has never loosened on me. I carry this knife with me EVERYWHERE that I go (except airports of course) and use the clip on the front left pocket of my jeans, even when riding my motorcycle.

I can’t imagine life without my Kershaw Clash. I use it every day and it has yet to let me down. If I ever lose it (I HAVE actually lost it once already, but had another on the way using Amazon Prime that SAME day!) I would buy another without hesitation. I cannot recommend this knife enough to those of you in the market for one.

    BUY IT.

I looked at several knives and bought this one. It was a good combination of features and price for me. It’s probably not the best steel, but it can be very sharp. It is a little smaller than most which is great for me, and the opening system is great so far. I am guessing that it won’t hold up to abuse the way some knives would, but I can buy 3 or 4 of these for the price of the others I was looking at.
