Fruit of the Loom Men’s Everyday Sport Crew Socks (6 Pack)

I recently purchased the Fruit of the Loom Men’s Essential 6 Pack Casual Crew Socks, and overall, I’m pleased with their performance. Here’s a detailed review with the pros and cons:

Pros:

These socks are a great price but they are thin and the flexibility seemed limited. They seem to be almost like dress socks. It’s a struggle to put them on and the heels/ ball of foot seem wear out easily.

It’s been 2 years since I received the socks and wrote a negative review (see below). However, I decided to give them a chance anyway. To my complete surprise, these socks are actually so well made and are the best socks I’ve ever had.

What made me remember my negative review was because today is the first time I found a hole in one of these socks. I couldn’t believe how long that took! Usually after just a few months I always see holes in my socks. With these, however, I forgot that even happens! And yes, I use them every day to go to work, play tennis, cycling, hiking, and formal events.

As for being too thin, I ended up liking that too. They still feel comfortable and you can wear them in any kind of shoe. Also, as I have already said, thin does not equate to weak as these stocks do not break easily.

Best socks ever. Especially for the price

These socks are too thin for what I’m used to when I buy crew socks. Also they are a bit tight. My foot size is 8.5

My husband is a 10 and these are tight and they say up to 12 there is no way they will fit a 12 length just be aware

We have a houseful of boy’s, & 1 Dad that are all hard workers, and hard players. Socks, & shoes/boots are always the first victims of such activities. Needless to say we go through a lot of socks.
I really like the Dickie’s, and then the Merino Wool socks in winter, but they can get pricey considering everyone inconveniently (for my budget) has 2 feet. So Fruit of The Loom is one place I save money, and can usually find someone who has them on sale for less than two dollars a pair. The other socks do last longer, but not long enough to validate the cost. I do still get everyone at least 1 pair of the wool socks (the ones who don’t like the feel wear them over regular socks) for winter just because they are real outdoors types who go nuts if they spend an entire day indoors.
I like to pick up a few packs every time I find them at that price point, and so far it has kept everyone in socks. When I pitch in a new pack of socks I throw out, or make rags out of as many pairs that have seen better days. If all their socks still look pretty good I just toss them in my closet until needed, because honestly no matter what brand of socks you wear – if you like playing outside, or spend a good part of your day in shoes & on your feet – you will need, or enjoy a new pack of socks at least once a year.
I check socks at different times of year because I don’t want my guys going to somebody’s house, take their shoes off, and have dingy, worn out socks. I check around birthdays, start of school, & Christmas. Everyone has about 4, maybe 5(the husband has 5) packs worth of socks, and at least 1 pack’s worth will be exchanged out during the year. I have found it to be a simple way to manage all the socks. About every other year – depending on who it is they will be down about a packs worth of socks ( I still have no idea where they go), so they end up with 2 packs that year, and then you have growing feet… All kinds of good reasons to keep an eye out for deals on socks. Lol! I figure I can let it drive me mad, or manage it routinely, and keep a stash if I can.
Maybe you, and your family rarely wear out, or lose socks, & spending more is the way to go, but I honestly have not seen any difference between these, and other brands a couple weeks in (some are initially fluffier, but it doesn’t last). I prefer to spend good money on the footwear over the socks. That is one place we don’t skimp is on the shoes, boots etc. that is where you really want to buy the best.

I think these should be advertised as either compression socks or reinforced socks. Nonetheless, I love my socks to be snug. I wear a size 13 shoe (normal width) and was anticipating these to be a little snug anyways but boy are they snug. Not that tight for me, just snug enough. I actually feel the reinforcement in the arch of the sock. So if that’s what you want, these are perfect. If you wear wide size shoes or have flat feet or something else makes your feet “bigger” than average or shaped bigger somehow, these might be too tight for you. I’m 6’2″ about 240lbs but my size 13 feet are actually quite dainty so these “formfitting” socks go quite well with my dress shoes. If these socks were made any smaller I would not be able to fit these. Definitely thicker construction than the typical dress sock that I was trying to avoid anyways. Love the arch support and almost compression sock-like feel so I’m giving 5 stars for my experience but word of caution to others depending on how your feet are shaped–these are not your average crew socks!

I buy them frequently. Quality and comfort fits my budget.
