I love this eyeliner so much that when drugstores stopped carrying it, I found it online… I have tried a ton of other brands but I either hate the quality of the liquid OR the shape of the brush. This is the only one that works for me. The brush is the perfect shape of sponge, making it SO easy to apply in the mornings. Seriously! I never mess up. It tends to give a bit of a thicker line than some might like but I would rather think and even than thin and messy.

I’m truly disappointed in this product. In addition to it smearing terribly upon application, it creates an awful burning sensation on my eye lids. I’ve not had this issue with other liquid eyeliners.

It used to be called “Amazing i-Liner”. I’ve tried other eyeliners over the years in a genuine effort to move on from this product, but they don’t seem to do it for me like this does. I do believe the formula has changed, as it does take reapplication of the eyeliner to get an opaque look. While it’s labeled hypoallergenic and no doubt it is, I notice fresh bottles tend to sting but leave no irritation on the skin. The applicator tip also is pretty stiff at first but once you break it in โ it does work beautifully.
Here’s why I’ve kept buying this eyeliner for over 20 years:
1. A true matte finish.
I’ve purchased “matte” eyeliners that have end up having a semi-gloss finish, or a weird sticky flakey texture. My theory is because these products attempt to waterproof the formula which sacrifice that flat matte finish. While unfortunately this Almay eyeliner isn’t waterproof and therefore not smudgeproof โ there’s nothing a little finishing spray or eyeshadow primer can’t do. I’ve used both with great results during swimming and gym workouts. In my opinion, I love the true matte black and don’t mind it doesn’t have those other properties built into to it.
2. A fantastic felt tip applicator.
Something about the shape, material, length, and absorbency of this applicator works perfectly for my hooded eyelids. There are $20+ high-end eyeliners that just don’t get right what this $7 drugstore eyeliner can do. Some felt tips are too long and therefore hard to control, some are a thin brush which doesn’t hold as much product in one swipe. If you want to avoid breaking in the felt tip and the roughness that comes at first, I recommend just squeezing the felt tip between your fingers and gently bend it around to soften it a bit more.
3. A long-lasting amount of product.
You’d be surprised how long that little “ink well” of eyeliner can last you! Usually the felt tip applicator is the first to go (after a long while of usage) before you actually run out of product. I like that Almay has kept this element of their eyeliner consistent over the years.
Those are my 2 cents. Definitely will continue to buy this for years to come. ๐

I love the staying power of this eyeliner and I’ve bought it over and over. I’ve got greasy eyelids and work 12-hour shifts- so my eye make up needs to last 13 hours or so AND be able to stand up to my oil, plus hot and sweaty conditions sometimes. Have I mentioned that Iโm a nurse? So itโs awesome if I somehow manage to look a little professional too! This little pot of eyeliner never lets me down! It’s easy to apply and easy enough to correct with a wet cotton swab for a couple minutes after application. After that, well, youโre going to have to take it off and start over I think. This eyeliner isnโt perfect and doesnโt quite make it the whole 13 hours sometimes. Sometimes Iโll get home and notice that Iโve dragged a bit of eyeliner down my face and occasionally I notice that one eye has a bit less than the other. However, Iโve never found another eyeliner that gets closer to what I need, and Iโve tried plenty. This really is a great little eyeliner. Iโm taking 1 star off because sometimes my eyelids burn with the initial application and if I wipe off the eyeliner I can see that my eyelid is also bright pink where it was applied. The burning doesnโt last for more than a second or two, and I donโt have further irritation throughout the day. I do an oil cleanser at the end of the day and it comes off easily.

Iโve been using this liquid liner for at least the last 10 years or more and I always get the same one! Iโve tried so many others in between Just to see, but for me, this is the best one! Itโs so easy to hold to put it on, and it goes on so clean but still dark. It doesnโt smudge badly by the end of the night. Just the absolute best liquid eyeliner Iโve tried.

Iโve been wearing Almay liquid eyeliner for years! Iโm a nurse that works 12+ hour shifts and it lasts all day and beyond! I wear it on my top eyelids and always have a small wing. It dries super fast, the color is on point, itโs not sticky, it glides on smoothly and has a nice sharp point making the lines easy to draw. It is absolutely my favorite ever!
