This is a fantastic intermediate set for anybody who wants knives which will actually cut the food and not you.
I used to use some Cuisinart knives (due to only being able to afford much cheaper sets). But this has been a tremendous step up. They were sharp out of the box, and the kitchen shears have been the sharpest and nicest I have had.
I also enjoy the feel of them, as they are easier to chop and cut with, versus other sets I had. Overall, I really enjoy these knives and will save up to buy higher tiers of blades from Zwilling or Henckels.

Nice & sharp. Not sure about the horizontal slot arrangement. The block is simply wood; no metal plate or plastic rim liners. Hadn’t noticed that this set does not have some of the finer blades found in some other sets. Serrated edge on steak knives present pro’s & con’s.

This knife block set is the nicest set I’ve owned. There is a perfect variety in the 15-pc set. I would highly recommend this set either for your kitchen or to give as a gift. Comes with kitchen shears and a knife sharpener. They also let you sign up for knife sharpening reminders. The instructions give illustrations for how to sharpen your knives too!

Wow! I haven’t bought a good set of knives in a long time. I asked a friend to recommend a brand and they immediately had a lot to say about Henkels. So, I searched for the right 5 knife set. I’m pretty happy with this purchase. The handle is comfortable, very strong and sturdy. The blades are so sharp! Be careful!! I’m not used to quality knives, apparently. These are a bit intimidating. But, the blades are so smooth, very sharp, strong and steady! I have shoulder issues and I had no problem cutting with these knives. Very impressed. And intimidated. Be careful.

The knives themselves are good, but after only a few runs in the dishwasher rust spots began to appear on them! I waited in case it was only a defect with one of the blades but spots have since appeared on several of them. I’m giving one star because the only reason I bought this set was because they claimed to be dishwasher-safe and they are not at all, as far as I can tell.

This is an excellent knife block for the average to above average kitchen. It has just about everything one would need. The quality of blade is better than most other knife blocks in this price range. I don’t think you can go wrong with this block for the price and it comes with a lifetime defect warranty. So as long as you take care of these knives, they should take care of you. Also almost forgot to mention the knives are lightweight because of the stamped stainless steel, unlike the heavy forged blades. So if you’re older or have grip issues with your hands, these may be the knives for you.

I have had a couple knife sets over the years and these are amazing. Great weight and ergonomic feel to them. Super sharp. The steak knife’s feel great in your hand and cut the meat really well. Well made and good value. I highly recommend this set. I only wish the knife block was optional as I have a knife drawer with its a knife holder set up to keep my counter space freed up from having the knife block on it.
