I created a terrarium to rehab a small toad who lost his back feet in an unfortunate lawnmower accident.

The moss I received absorbed water really quickly and was easy to work with. I only used about half of the package for the small terrarium. The toad seems to love it and I think it’s helping keep the humidity high in there.

First time buying dehydrated moss, and I’m really pleasantly surprised. The moss itself was still very green, and after soaking in dechlorinated water for 10 minutes it softened right up. It’s a bit messy as the moss is just loose in the box, but there was lots of it which was great. Its kind of rolled up inside the cardboard, so they fit a lot in.
I’ve used it for ground cover around the edges of my 45×45 exoterra – and to help keep more humidity in – and my boys are loving it. There’s still half a box of it left
Only downside I’ve found so far is that it smells strongly like a dirty aquarium? I’ve tried washing the moss but the smell hasn’t shifted, I’m hoping the smell passes as the clean up crew get to work and it settles into the viv more. I can only really smell it when I open the viv -so it’s not a major problem at the moment (i.e. not stinking my room out!)
    Overall, happy customer 🙂

I got this to use in a terrarium. I wasn’t sure what to expect. What a great way to get moss if you can’t find some outside. It arrived green and healthy and just needs to be rehydrated. Bonus – I didn’t have to wait 2-4 weeks for fresh.

Starting aquascaping and its my first time buying real moss and after reading some of the horror stories I decided to go with this one because it looked the most promising. Arrived quickly and came undamaged, but most importantly, fresh, green, dried and clean. Gave it a few soaks and rinses and it was perfect. Got nice big squares of moss, it’s so fluffy and cute that I almost don’t want to use it on my project. Will rebuy for sure.

Update: a week later, moss has been infected with mold. Been battling it, but it keeps coming back. Moss is losing its color. Hopefully keeping it drier will get rid of the mold

Moss came very dry until I read the directions to live in it up, it has lasted in my terrarium for two months and it still looks new.

Very happy with the product. Comes dry in a box. You water it and it comes back to life. Very green and soft.

I like that this is an all natural, live moss. It is absolutely gorgeous when you first soak it in water and install it. I just wish it actually stayed that way. It turns brown very fast in direct or strong indirect lighting. Just know its going to turn brown and need replacement if its not in full shade with very pure filtered waterings only (no tap water).

This moss is dead. It’s chemically sterilized of all microfauna and arrives dehydrated. It’s dyed green and will look fine in an amphibious animal habitat but otherwise should be avoided. In a terrarium it turns brown quickly and causes mold growth. Also, the smell is terrible.
