This probably won’t work for an adult bearded dragon, as the UVB output isn’t as high as other larger UVB lamps. Great for juvenile bearded dragons and other small desert reptiles.

This “combo pack” does NOT have the lamp structure — just the two bulbs. I guess the field calls them “hoods” and bulbs are called “lamps,” but I was expecting a hood as well as the bulbs, so if you are, too, just know it’s not that! The heat bulb went out after <3 months. My lamp has a dimmer and I had it turned way down during the daytime, so I feel it should have lasted longer. When I tried to transfer my bulb to my other lamp just to make sure it wasn't a lamp issue, the fluorescent bulb cracked and shattered even though I was being very gentle. I wish I could find something with a longer life span, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a brand that works for me. (Recommendations welcome!) I've had a ton of trouble buying bulbs recently, so I would recommend getting these in-store and asking to test them or at least making sure they don't have a rattle before you take them home. The buyer I purchased this from seemed careful and better than most of the others, and I think it's a brand issue (affecting most of the major brands, it seems?), but being able to check them first is better than taking a risk when buying online.
While it lasted, though, it worked excellently! The heat lamp was just the right temperature for my 30 gallon setup without using a dimmer or adjusting the distance of the lamp, and blended to a cool-but-not-too-cool gradient on the opposite side. I would say that I got about 86 degrees Fahrenheit at about 8 inches away from the thermometer (82 degrees in the winter) with the 75 watt bulb (that’s about 3 inches from the top of the tank). That was just what I was looking for for my garter snake. I have a deep tank and smaller ones will likely be able to reach higher temperatures if desired. It has a nice, warm tone, not harsh on the eyes. The fluorescent bulb is low energy and only 13 watts, but that’s all I needed to make my snake a happy camper, with rich, deep coloring (as opposed to a sandy, paler brown before buying the bulb) and high levels of activity (he went from skittish, lethargic, and slow to eat, to sassy (but not aggressive or threatening), friendly, constantly active, and unafraid. He seems really delighted with his bulbs when they work, and has obviously been very sad the few days he’s gone without them while I acquire ones that actually work! (It’s been a battle…)

A requirement for any bearded dragon habitat! Saved quite a bit of $ buying them here then going to 2 of the local box stores for this EXACT product. I use these same brand bulbs for our tortoise and they last quite a while. Only time will tell if these higher wattage ones with last as long in comparison to them.
