It had good information in it but wasn’t very interesting to him. It just didn’t keep his attention. When I made him read it he always learned something new but this wasn’t a book he wanted to pick up in his own. For a nine year old boy he reads a great amount, an hour or more everyday and he said he really didn’t like this book.

Great summary of FDR and the times he lived it. Get to know and understand what was happening and the president who was a friend of the people leading them out of the Depression and through WWII.

This series is a great way to introduce kids to history and biography. My 10 year old has 10 in the series. Many of them we timed with a visit to the actual place or places in the bios. Example : We gave him the FDR book a few weeks before a trip to Hyde Park and his home and grave site. Milton Hersey before Hersey Park. Helps to bring it all together as real, sets goals and makes it more fun.

He got it when he had just turned 6. Now he is 7. Book actually helped with reading skills as well. I give 7 stars to book if given option. In fact all books in this series are awesome and inspiring for young kids.
