Let me start by saying, Iโ€™m a 6th grade ELA teacher. I read a lot of books. Like. A. Lot. Especially Romantasy because itโ€™s my favorite genre. I normally get to book 2 of a series, and Iโ€™m done because the writing just isnโ€™t great and the plot is predictable.

Not this one. Yesโ€ฆthe first book has a lot of similarities to Hunger Games, but give book 2 a chance!!!! The FMC is so relatable, and the MMCโ€ฆwellโ€ฆIโ€™m at the moment trying to decide if he is now my favorite MMC. (Comparing him to Rhys in ACOTARโ€ฆof course) I have never highlighted so many โ€œmomentsโ€ in a bookโ€ฆthe MMC will melt your heart. โค๏ธ

The first two books of this series have no spice! I normally stay away from the non-spicy books, (I love my ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ books) but I am so glad I gave this series a chance. It was a breath of fresh air.

I usually make notes in my phone about series that arenโ€™t complete, so when the next book comes out I can refresh my brain. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m going to have to do that with this series. ๐Ÿ’œ Canโ€™t wait to see what happens with Paedyn, Kai, and Kitt!!

I’m honestly not sure how this book was published when it’s practically plagiarized. It’s 100% a Hunger Games ripoff – not inspired by. Add in an unsexy power struggle a la 50 shades and this book is a disaster I couldn’t even read on a long plane ride. I left it unfinished on an airport chair for someone else.
