Well written… average illustrations, I am knocking off one star because those illustrations (in some cases) are so small the drop down menus shown can be very hard to read. But overall, a far better guide to a fine piece of software than Sony provides.

I’ve made about 15 ‘family’ videos with Sony Suite 11, all about 1 hour long. After I upgrading to v13, I thought I would read this book so I could check out new features. But I got but much more than that. I discovered a whole host of easy yet powerful features that really I could have been using all along to make my DVDs much more interesting and dynamic.
What I really, really like about this book is the focus on the “user experience” of reading it. A great deal of effort has been exerted so that you can read the book in cover-to-cover to mode (to give you an overview of all the features) or reference mode (to use/learn an actual feature in real-time). The text is full of cross-references so you get the most out of any one section, and yet somehow all the cross-referencing does not detract when you read cover-to-cover.
A truly excellent learning aid. I liked it so much, I have ordered the companion DVD Architect book by the same author,

This book is just brilliant. Many authoratitive manuals boast that they alone provide everything you need to know, but then they fall over at the first hurdle. This user manual actually gives you all the knowledge you need and more besides, like the recommendations for using the Canopus ADVC 300 to pre-process analogue footage for the best results. Great buy and thouroughly recommended.

Easy to understand style and once you’ve spent a few minutes using the actual software it’s easy to find the sections in the book. I didn’t read it cover to cover I just dip in when I need it.
There’s no doubt it has made using the software a LOT easier.
The author is obviously an excellent communicator and knows the Sony product well.

For a while I was using the tutorials within Movie Studio and using youtube.
This book saved the day for me. I’ve been working my way through the book
and working on small video projects for friends using the techniques described.
Well written, nicely printed with color, easy to understand. The author really
knows the software and more important has that special gift to relay the information
to the reader. The book will be a valuable reference, while working on the many
future projects I have planned.

Le frasi brevi sono un incoraggiamento a leggere un libro in inglese anche per chi non lo ha mai fatto.
