If you haven’t seen this, or ever heard of Monty Python because you’re simply younger like 15-20 years old – you’ve entirely missed out on the best classic comedy set in a medieval European setting: castles, knights, wizardry, that sort of thing with absolutely ridiculous humor, some of which is UK centered and not toward USA, but that doesn’t mean much, guaranteed if you haven’t seen Monty Python & the Holy Grail, you need to and add this one to your collection. After the 2nd time watching, you will understand all the “Tis but a scratch…” “It’s only a flesh wound” “…cut down the mightiest tree in the forest” and you’ll be making “shrubbery” jokes in no time… and its educational at the same time, you will learn the difference between a European swallow versus an African swallow (species of bird)… fun for the whole family!

I purchased this to upgrade my V.H.S. version. I was reviewing it to make sure it played fine & both the audio & visual quality are outstanding! I was astonished when my 2-year-old grandson was laughing hysterically! While it was not my intent to expose him to such a movie he howled when I tried to take it out! I covered his eyes during the ” Black Knight” scene, ” Tis but a scratch!” but both my wife & I were surprised when he was running around shouting ” Nee, Nee!” at us. The Monty Python Players made many hilarious movies, but this is defiantly one of their best! a great addition to any movie library…a classic! I consider Mel Brooks the American version of the British Monty Python Players. I personally will endeavor to add more of their movies to my library…but if you only add one of their movies to your library I would highly recommend this one!
