I bought this game because I really wanted to start losing some weight, and thought to myself “What better way for someone who loves playing games to lose weight then to do so by having fun playing a game?” I played all the songs included with the game, which frankly weren’t many. They were fun, but I wish they added more because they eventually got repetitive and boring, so I used the Just Dance Unlimited free trial. I really enjoyed the variety of songs that they had to offer with Unlimited, and I think that it would be a good form of exercise that could last a long time given how many songs they have. But I wouldnt recommend getting this game unless you use Unlimited. So if you aren’t able to spend $4 for the monthly subscription after the free trial then it might not be worth it.

The kids love this game! This is the third version we’ve purchased, as they’re always asking for the next one. Lots of great songs, they always have fun when playing this game. I don’t like that they can see all of the available songs that cost extra in the game, as you have to pay for some kind of membership to access the massive playlist the game has available. They do enjoy playing the songs included with the game, but they get frustrated about not being able to use some of the other songs.
This game is always popular when they have friends over for birthday parties and stuff too, very entertaining. I would recommend it despite part of the content being subscription based. It’s great that it keeps them active on days when it’s just too cold to go outside.
Make sure you have enough joy-cons for everyone ahead of time! The first time the kids played I didn’t realize that you couldn’t use the other type of remote and I had to run out and buy more joy-cons so no one would be left out.

This is a MUCH better value than Just Dance 2023 or 2024. This version has a yearly subscription called “unlimited” which for 24.99 (on switch) gets one 700 songs. On 2023 or 2024 one has the option of purchasing a subscription called “plus”. That only gets an additional 300 songs. For the money, this is a great value. There may be some performance difference or graphical improvements in 23 or 24, but my 8 year old appreciates the song variety. Maybe one day the newer song catalog will be as diverse, for now the older one is a better value. 1/7/2024
