One of my all time favorite video games.
I still have a PS2 just to play this, WWE Smackdown and my Medal of honor games.
Sure the graphics aren’t as smooth as present games, but you don’t need a giant console worth $100s to enjoy it.

This was one of the most fun games that I have ever played. Red Dead Revolver is good but the graphics and care taken in creating every movement of this game is so much better. It is rather short and that is my only derogative. Make sure that you play all of the side missions before going on to the next story section because if you don’t you will have a lot of just running around at the end which is not bad because there are so many places that you can go to search for gold and so forth. Number one favorite thing is the realistic movements. Have fun.

This game has a very well written story and great voice acting. I have actually played the game at easy difficulty just to watch the story unfold, like rewatching a good movie. The side missions take you away from the main quest line, but they give the feeling of a shootist living day to day in the old west. The side quests are also the way you improve your abilities. The main character has depth and his mysterious past is woven very nicely into the main story.

I have heard friends complain that too much of the game is spent riding your horse from one place to another. I think they have no appreciation of exploration. Being from the west, I enjoy the western scenery depicted in the game. The only thing that could improve the game is a higher resolution.

This is a fun western style game, It’s not the bloody gore you may see in other M rated games but it’s something. You get to ride around on your horse when you want, you can shoot people off of other horses, do missions, search for people on wanted posters, play poker, and much more without spoiling anything. You get a nice variety of guns as the game progresses and experience new things.

Although dated when it comes to graphics, gun is an all around excellent game for adults. Imagine a 1880’s adventure movie, full of brutal revenge and savagery. Although short I feel any more content would make the game seem tedious which it isn’t. It’s a perfect game to go along with the modern day violent western art, that has started showing up with movies and shows like Jango unchained, and hell on wheels. Bloody, violent, well written, great replay value, it’s got it all.

I love this game! I rented it from Blockbuster many years ago, but never finished it, so I decided to buy it and start over. Even after having played through 90% of the story already, it’s still fun. The story is great, the voice acting is well done, horse riding is fun, and shooting is easy enough. I also like that it’s an open world. If you don’t feel like following the main storyline and would rather ride about all day, you can do that. Or you can take one of the side missions to pass the time.

My only complaint is that the world is kind of small when compared to other open world games. You can ride from one side to the other in a few minutes. And the game is somewhat short if you’re dedicated to working through the main storyline.

But it’s a lot of fun. I only played it years ago because I wanted to ride horses in the Wild West, but I’ve found that there are tons of other fun things to do in it as well. I highly recommend it!

I use the GTA games and Bully as the benchmarks for open world games, and in my experience so far, Gun doesn’t compare. I played up to the point of saving the bridge from the natives trying to blow it up. Admittedly, that is still early in the game, but I just can’t seem to get an interest in the story line, and so far the game is very linear. Some day I will come back and continue further to see what kind of side missions open up and how interesting the main story line becomes, but for now I haven’t finished Bully or San Andreas, so I will probably finish those before I ever come back to Gun. Three stars for “meh.”
