Bought this game when it was on sale (34,95$) as a Christmas gift for my two nieces age 6 and 8 and they love it. The style of this game is charming, cartoonish and comical, fun for kids. However, some levels can get quite challenging and some bosses can also be pretty hard to beat so I would recommend having at least one adult or teenager to help. As per the title of the game, it takes at least two player to play this game. A good coordination between the two players is required to advance through some of the levels and it is a great way for kids to learn how to be cooperative.
I would recommend buying.

This game is only two player simultaneous play. You can’t play it will less than two players. That said it is possibly the best game I have ever played. It is challenging, but can be played by all ages since there are no life limits. My 10 and 12 year olds love it and it is the favourite game they own. Adults can play it also. The story is funny and the gameplay is a lot of fun. If you are thinking of buying it just do it.

This game is challenging and fun. It has content not suitable for very young children (context, language). But other than that my wife and I enjoy playing it after the little ones go to bed. The case does state “1-2 players” however it is apparently only a 2-player game which is just fine with us.

The premise of the entire adventure is a wacky relationship book with some sort of magic that turns a soon to be divorcing husband and wife into play dolls.
The soon to be divorcing story line is rough, poorly acted, and while it sets up the game play, some of it is uncomfortable. Think daytime soap without as much bizarreness.
Otherwise, game play was fun and my wife and I had a good time figuring out the puzzles together and working our way through the levels. Each player has complementary roles, and it was varied so there’s not a primary or secondary person, but was mostly equal.

This game was a gift to my fiance. We are both enjoying playing it together and there’s a lot of replayability as we can swap characters once the game is finished for a different perspective. The Book character is really annoying though, and the idea that “working together” and “communication” will fix your marriage is fairly problematic. While it’s a nice take from the eyes of a child with parents going through a divorce, I think it could have been done differently in the game to something more realistic; while still keeping the child cutscenes. The characters mostly just yell and blame each other the entire time, which gets pretty annoying after a while.

Sweetest storyline, great gimmicks, and super cool that it’s collaborative. Love this game.

Excelente, lo estoy jugando con mi hija para aprender a ser colaborativos y pelear

Super creative levels, satisfying and different responsibilities for each player. Only wish it had more levels! I loved the puzzle aspect, and the fighting parts weren’t too intense. My husband and I haven’t played a game together since we had a kid, but he was asking to play every night after the kid was asleep!

“It Takes Two on Switch is not just a game; it’s a digital marriage boot camp. The co-op madness is like a comedic therapy session – my partner and I laughed, bickered, and learned that teamwork means less blaming and more button-mashing.
The pixelated world is a hilarious marriage of chaos and creativity, and I’m convinced the game designers are secretly relationship counselors in disguise. Solving puzzles together felt like navigating the complexities of Ikea furniture assembly – frustrating yet strangely bonding.
Now, let’s talk about the 8-bit divorce court I mentioned earlier. The game cleverly avoids it by forcing us to collaborate through challenges, making us question if winning an argument is worth sacrificing a victory dance in the virtual world. A genius touch by the game developers!
In conclusion, It Takes Two is a 5-star co-op masterpiece that turned our game nights into pixelated date nights. If you’re ready for a digital adventure that’s a mix of laughs, challenges, and relationship insights, this game is your ticket to a Switch therapy session that doesn’t involve dissecting emotions but rather pixel-perfect teamwork! 🎮💑🌟”
