This is an easy game to keep in the car for a quick distraction. My 8 and 10 year olds will play it for 5-7 minutes before it gets old for them. The music is adjustable a little bit, but it can still get annoying if you are bothered by repetitive mechanical noises. The item itself is well-made and has made it through many drops in the car. It was very easy to use right from the start. I would think it would be a great fit for somewhat younger kids – ages 4-7?

My kids LOVE the Pop-A-Mole feature of this game. Itโs fast-paced which is what they love. They arenโt as excited about the memory part of the game, but theyโll play it. They will compete to see who can remember the longest sequence. There are 8 colors which I think is a little harder on the memory game than the traditional 4 color game. It comes with โtry meโ batteries which is great if you give this as a gift. Theyโve lasted longer than I thought they would.
The game seems pretty solid. The boys really hit it hard and it shows no sign of breaking.
My favorite thing is that it can be played without sound!!!

Just add batteries and kids are ready to play. Itโs a fun little toy to keep them busy for a bit. Thereโs different games they can click around to play such as memory and whack a mole style games as listed. Volume is clear and colors are bright and crisp. Itโs a nice little stocking stuffer style game, the size allows you to take it on the go and the volume is adjustable for those days we all have that you just get tired of hearing toys. Win win toy. Decent value for the money, and it seems like it will hold up even after they drop it a few too many times.

My kids loved this game. I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old. The 6 year old had a ton of fun with the memory game. My 4 year old just liked the wack-a-mole version.

So TLDR… its fine. It does two types of games and the sound and light quality is workable. It has voice commands it speaks to you which are somewhat hard to understand but also have a lovely quality to them. Its not the most intuitive toy I have ever seen but within a couple minutes my kids at least had it going.
They are not kidding about that 8-12 range btw. The Whack-a-mole game in particular is BRUTAL! It starts really abruptly and gives you 3 “misses” then chides you with a song and ends. There is no way to lower or increase the difficulty and on the first level its pretty quick! As an adult I had no issue but my 2 and 4 year olds never stood a chance. Happily, it reverts to a “piano” mode if you don’t specify a game and both of them love that. The color match game is a little less cruel but its also not holding anyones hands. Even at level one it expects you to remember 4(?) different sequences that are all different, not cumulative.
For us… its a fun little toy to have around. As for older kids that it is aimed at… I don’t know how well it competes with the many other forms of entertainment available to them. Honestly, this would make a lot more sense for younger kids anyway.

The SYNCFUN Handheld Game is perfect for all ages. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my grandchildren and wanted to give it a try before giving it to them. This handheld game is great fun and has two different modes for a variety of play. One mode is a whack-a-mole type game, and the other mode is similar to Simon. You can adjust the volume on the game as well. I also like that this handheld game isnโt just another mindless toy, but is instead a good clean fun toy that keeps kids engaged. Itโs not too large, so itโs easy to bring with you in the car or on vacation.
Don’t forget to get batteries before giving it as a gift.

This device is simple in that it has two game modes, memory mode (like the electronic game Simon) and pop-a-mole (like the game whack a mole, exactly what youโd expect).
PROS:
VOLUME: There are three options for volume: no volume, low volume, and regular volume). I really appreciate this feature for its versatility. There are definitely times when we need no volume, times where we want the higher volume, and times when we need that lower/medium volume so that we can enjoy the sound without getting overwhelmed.
EASY TO USE: My six year old was able to pick this up easily and understand how to play the two different game modes immediately. He doesnโt always get them right so there is still a challenge there, but he understood how to play just fine.
ROUNDS: Instead of rounds being infinite like Bop It would be fine, both of these games will have a set number of things for you to get to right in order to complete the โroundโ at which point it has a pause before starting the next โroundโ. I think this is nice for kids (or adults) to have a little break before continuing their streak with the next round.
QUALITY: This device appears mostly well made. It seems pretty sturdy and durable which is good, especially if it is meant to be portable.
CONS:
PORTABILITY: While I would still consider this puzzle game to be technically portable, it is a bit bigger than I thought I would be originally. We could still bring it with us to the car, the park, and other places. But it wouldnโt fit in a small purse or the palm of your hand like some travel games would. So keep that in mind.
SLOW RESPONSE: Sometimes on the memory game, your mind and hands might move faster than the device can process. I would watch the sequence then go to repeat it and if I didnโt give enough pause between each press or if I didnโt push the button intentionally enough, then it didnโt always register that I had pressed that button at which point Iโd have to press it again for it to register. If you are a person that wants to go through it quickly then it may count it as wrong soโฆ it may require a little patience in that situation.
Overall, we all found this game to be pretty fun. I got it for my 6 year old but my 9 year old and I also enjoyed it. In the end, I would recommend it with the understanding that it is a decent size (larger than the portable/travel games I am used to).
