Digital download! Made the case obsolete but it was cool being able to make use of the bonus codes. I need to stress that the game is fantastic — micro-transaction dilemma aside, the mechanics are tight, and I can’t tell if this is a port from console or not, thanks to how well-optimized this is. There’s the added satisfaction of free singleplayer/multiplayer DLC and a fairly skilled playerbase. Launch issues seem to have been ironed out. Enjoy Dice’s great work!

The issue is less about any sort of loot box/post loot box problems. The game play itself is fun for an arcade quality shooter, environments are visually incredible, and i’m sure there are enough modes to give you a good SW franchised feel. The downside is multiplayer experience is just awful with poor match making quality control. You will queue for 2 minutes, to load for a minute to find out you joined with 45 seconds left in a game where you will go to the score screen… and wait while people leave only to have the session closed due to not enough players. I didn’t find the single player content challenging/worthwhile at all.

Some of the features are disappointing & don’t measure up to the original Battlefront 2 disk PC edition. Some of the campaign features I enjoyed though. There was a glitch in which I would not be able to adjust the aim while moving my character to the side. I researched various suggested solutions which partially alleviated the issue but not completely.

Good game, looks amazing as they really get the feel of Star Wars. Single campaign is half as long as it needed to be and the multiplayer is a train wreck with its loot box progression system that they should be ashamed for implementing. If that is the future of Multiplayer games we are all in trouble.

Have not played it or opened it yet. I purchased this, and a XBOX version, when it came out and my kid said he wanted it. After reading more of the reviews from many gaming communities this, and the Xbox one, will most likely be returned unopened, as it is a $59-$69 game and we just found out that you can not go far in the game and just enjoy it without in game purchasing!! WHAT A RIP! If were a $5 app then I would say fine, but after spending a lot for a game I do not want to pay more to enjoy. Will be doing more research hoping EA has and will decide to remove that part and for those that have purchased will be able to keep them with a PERMANENT update when they decide to load them.

The game itself is awesome and perfect for any Star Wars fan. I have played through most Star Wars games and this is one of the few that gets the feeling right. Unfortunate it is that the game’s progress model got politically wrapped up in the microtransactions, grinding, and movie release. Yet looking at the GAME and not the politics, it is quite good.

Overall, I’ve enjoyed my time thus far with BF2. The audio and visual aspects are amazing yet again. The increase in maps and game modes is a welcome addition, and with EA releasing a few free DLC additions to the game over time (one of which just dropped with the release of The Last Jedi), the variety is increasing. While the single-player campaign is another welcome, and mostly enjoyable, addition, the story itself was not what the advertisements and trailers would have you believe.
The biggest knock against BF2 is the stuttering issues during cut-scenes, in both single and multiplayer modes. This issue can carry into gameplay at the beginning of a match, but it usually smooths out after a minute once the game has rendered that particular map.
