I pre-ordered this game so I was able to get it for the pre-order discount (around $40 I believe).
What I like: Cute game, fun activities, good for multi-player. I recently got to the point where I get my own Villa that you can decorate and I’m in love with that aspect, reminds me of My Sims. I’ve spent hours unlocking new furniture and Villas and decorating them. Really makes you want to level up for more keys.
What I dislike: The graphics.. Dear god. The game looks like it’s from 2008 lol. I feel like 2008 is even being generous. I wish since the game is being ported for Switch in 2018, that they would remaster the textures and graphics. Maybe they’ll do some sort of graphics overhaul as an update.
Do I think the game is worth it’s full price? Eh. Not really. This game, the way it is now, should’ve been $25 max. Hopefully the developers listen to the complaints and make some changes. I’m enjoying the game so far though.

I didn’t play the wii version, but it’s purportedly the same game with better motion control?
But, this game is like SUPER fun. I don’t have the money or capability to do most of this vacation-y stuff so I can do it all in-game and it’s addictive. There’s tons of hidden areas and finding all the chests is enjoyable. You can get cool photos with your character in fun outfits in beautiful locales. The motion controls work REALLY well. If you can stop feeling cheesey and space in, you really can HAVE A BALL. There’s a few vacation locals and many, many events.
Other than the story mode, there are a few other modes for the events and a vacation villa decorating mode. Also some collect-’em.
Without motion controls you can play many of the events but honestly, you’ll wanna use a controller with motion controls. I also recommend using the full controller. There’s local co-op that allows you to use your own custom avatar, own custom villa, custom gear, and update your clothes on your friends game and complete events together for both files. Really lovely local co-op. No un-saved, no personal progress happening if you play with your family or friends. ALL functions available for your vacation needs. You can even pick up an animal friend to run around with.
favourite modes: scuba diving fish finding, bungie jumping, skateboarding, snow tubing, and horseback riding. There’s something to like in every area. I also love the villa area. You can change weather and time of day by holding button combo while loading the area. Night modes are so majestic, there’ cool lighting and weather and all kinds of stuff. The music is lovely.
Seriously, it’s not a super replayable, but you’ll have a great time while you’re doing your first playthrough. Luckily it’s not as expensive as the other switch titles. There’s some enjoyment to be had. Plus it’s cheaper with amazon prime.
Perfect game for families with younger kids (pre-teens and before) or millennials like me who can’t afford real vacations, especially not with cool events.

J aime beaucoup le jeu.
J ai payé pour la livraison rapide d un jour ce qui m a couté 12$ supplementaire.
J ai recu mon jeu 2 semaines plus tard.
Mais mis apart la livraison lente le jeu est bien

I’m a 38 year old having a fantastic time with this game. It’s the first time since Mario Odyssey came out that I haven’t been able to put down a Switch game. People who are complaining about the game need to play past the tutorials, because so many options (like motion controls) become available the deeper you get into the game.
I love the open world concept of this game—you can run/skate/ride around exploring each resort looking for treasures, taking pics, completing your animal photo collection, practicing your skills, etc. Just the travel methods alone are a blast because each method has its own little set of features—like the in-line skates for example, you can jump and do tricks or grind along rails while you’re heading over to wherever it is you’re going. The ATV, if you work it right, will even climb up certain cliff-sides, which you can’t do if you’re walking.
When you’re not exploring you can be playing the mini games, which are incorporated into the resorts so well. You want to surf? Head over to Coconore Island to catch some waves. In the mood for some fishing? Go find the fishing instructor on the beach, or better yet, hop on your jet ski and ride into the secret cave for some fishing on the dock. Feel like skiing? Catch a chair lift to take you up the mountain. You can also select the activities from the main menu for quicker access. I’m really impressed with how many mini games they put into this. There is quite a variety, and while the game mechanics can seem repetitive, each sport has its own unique appeal so that you don’t feel like you’re playing the same game over and over.
The game doesn’t come without flaws. The graphics aren’t as good as they’re capable of being on Switch. But they’re good enough that my thalassophobia kicks in when I’m scuba diving. The most glaring issue is the camera. They should have let you look around with the right analog stick, but you can’t. It makes no sense considering the right analog stick has no use when you’re exploring. Also, some spots in the open world, like doors to buildings and ladders, can’t be entered or used. Why put a ladder on the side of a building if you can’t climb up? Loading screens can take a while. And the map needs to have more information—such as the location of where each activity can be found. Hopefully when, if, they put out the next version of this game they’ll fix all this and make the UI a little more intuitive and streamlined. It stinks having to leave a resort to go to the main menu to view hints and your photo album.
Aside from exploring and playing mini-games there are objectives, challenges, records to break, levelling up to get keys so that you can customize your villa, finding the bungee jumping locations, collecting and changing outfits, and the list goes on. Heck, they even put dogs in the game. You can adopt a dog and it’ll run around with you, and he’ll bark when you’re near a secret. You can select your breed, change it’s size and give it a name to match your dog in real life if you’re anything like me.
It’s nice to buy a game that I don’t feel like was a waist of money. Every time I play I discover or unlock something new. I can’t wait to play multi-player with the kids I babysit. They’re going to have a blast.
