I’m rather impressed with the quality of the audio with gen3. As an audiophile, I’m very critical of audio and let’s say, I’m satisfied. Not impressed, but satisfied is great description. Lots of fine-tuning and their predefined values for EQ are actually solid, like an engineer actually used their skill and set some rather simple but well done eq changes. Very comfortable, which is a must if you have a long battery life. Easy pair as long as your willing to use the wireless adapters for the first time setup, then you can box em after if you don’t need em. I tested the mic, it’s crisp and clear but I didn’t buy them specifically for that. I bought the Xbox ready version but I don’t even have an Xbox. For the money it’s a steal of you just want some solid wireless headphones and the also come with a mic. Cobalt is where is it’s at tbh.

Worst headset I’ve ever used out of the box.
There’s constant faint static in the headphones, the microphone is weak, the range is pathetic (you can’t step two feet away from the room with the dongle before it cuts out).
The worst part by far is the random disconnections though. You can be sat right in front of the dongle and every 10-20 minutes the headset will just disconnect on its own and you’ll have to restart it to reconnect it. Sometimes even that doesn’t work and you have to pair it all over again.
All of this is consistent with other problems people have had, so for all that is good: do NOT buy this headset!

This headset has awesome sound, and the 80hr battery life is incredible. It comes with two usb transmitters, which is unheard of in todays market. The fact that I can seamlessly switch between my Xbox and my PC with the press of a button, is very convenient. The headset can be used independently on my Xbox and PC as well, so I don’t have to keep them both turned on. I bought the Xbox version, because it’s compatible with the Xbox, PC, and PlayStation. The other version are not compatible with Xbox. The 60mm drivers produce phenomenal sound, and the settings for the equalizer can be customized in the Swarm 2 software. Swarm 2 is also available as a phone app, and you can change the settings on the fly. The only issue I have is with the update process through the apps. It’s a little quirky, and you have to have your phone, headset, and both transmitters connected while updating. I didn’t have any issues while updating, but it is a much different process than what I am accustomed to. The headset is extremely comfortable, and doesn’t crimp your head. The ear cushions have leatherette on the outside, and a nice cloth fabric for the part that touches your ear. This keeps my ears from sweating, and makes those lengthy gaming sessions more comfortable. I highly recommend this product and I don’t think you will find better sound in a $200 headset. Now for the bad on the delivery and order fulfillment. I returned the one I received from Amazon, and reordered a headset from Turtle Beach directly. The one I received from Amazon was thrown in a bag and shipped. Electronic items should always be shipped and packaged in a box. The top right corner of the product box was creased, and two of the seals were broken. It was a defective unit that had been previously returned. The transmitter for the Xbox could not be detected by my Series X. This is not the first time I have received an open defective product from Amazon, when I thought I was purchasing a new one. I did return the product and the refund was promptly completed. I purchased the item on sale, and during the return process there was no option for an exchange. The sale was over by the time my return was completed, so I was unable to take advantage of it. Great headset with horrible fulfillment.

Here are the feature I have found so far as well as some pointers for anyone who doesn’t want to read the whole thing.
What you get:
(1) 2 dongles one for Xbox one for PC and Playstation.
(2) the headset made of pretty high-quality stuff in my opinion
(3) a charging cable type C
What app to use:
SWARM II it has a purple icon with the turtle beach logo. You can update directly from the app it will tell you how. I do not know why it’s not advertised.
Has most of the options from the last app plus you can make your own equalizer presets.
What you can do:
Page One
General Audio Setting/ custom equalizer:
(1) turn off and on the Superhuman Hearing setting and choose from 3 separate settings (Non-Adjustable) Legacy, footsteps, and gunshots.
(2) Choose from 4 Non-Adjustable audio presets or make up to 5 of your own.
Page Two
Mic settings:
Not much to say here, you can change the sensitivity and make your own presets.
Page Three
Not much here either, map the mode button with two options and adjust the LED brightness on the dongles. Yes you can do this.
Page Four
Hyperlinks to help center, social media and tells you if your headset needs an update.

THE ACTUAL REVIEW
The difference between the stealth 700 gen 2 max and these is kind of insane. My biggest problems with the last generation was that it was made of primarily plastic and were super quiet, whereas these are made of pretty high quality materials (the actual hinges are made of metal, a big plus) and they are loud when you want them to be. At the moment my only complaint is the comfort has gone down just a bit. The earmuffs are harder than gen 2 but the trade off in actual quality is more than worth it. The amount of customization you get with these in the app is also a big improvement over the last gen. If you are looking to get some nice headphones these are for you.

Iโve always gone with turtle beach. I went from the stealth 600s, to these. And the noise cancellation on these is amazing! It comes with 2 usb connectors, so if you use different consoles, you can switch your headset with a push of a button. These also have Bluetooth! I can connect to 2 things at once. Allows for me to play Xbox and listen to music at the same time. The turtle beach app allows you to keep your headset updated to the newest software. They are comfortable. I donโt find them to be as glasses friendly as they advertised. But I make do. Overall, these are my best ones yet! Highly satisfied and recommend them to any Xbox player out there!

The sound is fine. The headset noise isolation is good. The mic is garbage. I have gone back to using my 700 Gen 1s for now. Contemplating a return.
For anyone with a big head these are for sure a bit tight just an FYI.
