Jim Brummett –
I have no issues with the content of the book itself..its a really good book to have around if you’re interested in history at all. But ugghh the actual book itself is poorly built. The binding was coming apart when I first opened it. The dust cover was already scraped up pretty good right out of the box. I can see it completely falling apart soon even if handled with care.
Nancy –
A great book, full of pics and the chronological order of events. It never ceases to amaze me the excellent presentation of historical information.
Dr. Joe –
I’ve never recommended a book to everyone, every family, but I do for this marvelous, exciting book. This large and hefty tome devotes its space to a sweeping history of the world, in language basic enough for kids in elementary school to understand, but interesting enough to hold the attention of all ages. Its many vivid graphics ( the pages are about 70% illustrations) helped me to to get a “you are there” feeling, as if I was living in ancient Greece or dozens of other places and eras. It provides diversion as well as education–of course, not covering any country or civilization with any depth. It’s a historical smorgasbord, which creates a yearning for a second bite of a myriad of specific topics. The price is very reasonable., and it’s great fun to browze through. The book’s condition was excellent. It was not damaged in shipment, as some reviewers had cautioned about.
Michael –
In true National Geographic form the content is excellent – five stars for the content.
However, as other reviews have noted the binding is defective and it would be wise to wait until the publisher or printer or whomever has a chance to reissue the book with a binding that will hold together.
I will keep the book because sending it back will be too time consuming in an already busy schedule but, I will read it with care to prevent the entire book from falling apart!

I think its a classy book!
Jim Brummett –
This was a gift for my history loving grandfather. For the man that has so many books and is having a harder time focusing as years add up- this was perfect! Absolutely stunning photos & captivating themes.
David Franco –

This book is GIANT and the pictures and photography are amazing. You can flip to any page and learn a little bit while the pictures help tell the story. Most pictures are printed on the entire page so that you can see every detail allowing the reader to feel immersed.
Pearly shell –
If you have a grade schooler this book is very good. I bought this for my son, he is homeschool, doesn’t have iPad or co.puter games so he has no choice to play his Toya or read books when school is over. He loves it. He has more knowledge than I do when it comes to history.
Fani Tzivelopoulou –

Great book with beautiful illustrations and pictures.
