I absolutely love wildlife documentaries/shows/series! They are so informative and enjoyable to watch! I find them fascinating and extremely interesting! I watch nothing else but wildlife series,and true crime series. I have alot of respect for the camera crews that are away from their own families and have to endure everything they have to. I enjoyed the narration and the music in the background. If you enjoy wildlife documentaries/shows/series, I highly recommend this series. You can definitely learn from them. I wish more people cared about and wanted to protect all of the earth’s beautiful and amazing animals. We all need them, believe it or not. Every living thing because their is a food chain and every animal plays apart in their own ways. We need to protect and care for the amazing animals this planet has left before it’s too late for some! Can binge watch as i did because I was really enjoying the series. Can watch with your kidos.

I purchased this documentary series because I missed the last episode & had to find out how it ended! My daughter thought that statement alone was a good enough review to help people understand how good this series is. I find it difficult to call this series a animal documentary because it is so different from what we traditionally think of when we hear ” Documentary” it is much more like a action drama movie! I have heard both the female narration & the male narration & I feel both do a great job keeping the action & drama emotionally exciting. The cinematography is top notch & the color & clarity is absolutely stunning! They cover a wide variety of animal groups & give the animal character names that really helps to endear the animals to the viewer just as you would want to do in any movie. By covering so many different groups of animals this allows the film makers to transition from group to group keeping the action & attention level high keeping the viewer from getting bored by covering one group of animals in one solid segment. It also allows transition from one group of animals to the other any time the animal groups meet & over lap. Old school documentary’s were loaded down with animal facts such as size weight tooth size, skill sets and tons of other facts. In this age of being able to find much of this information simply by ” Asking Google” this new approach of presenting animal documentaries more like movies will undoubtedly raise higher interest in the animal kingdom to younger & older audiences alike. This is the 1st animal documentary I personally have seen presented in this movie style. If this is in fact the first animal documentary done in this more movie adventure/drama style I predict in the future the Academy awards best movie of the year is going to star a bunch of wild animals & voice actors & cinematographers will be held in higher esteem than ever before!!!

These episodes show different families of animals in the wild. I don’t know how many secret cameras are placed in the wild, or if the producers of the show use drones, but you see elephants up close, see their babies taking their first steps. It’s majestic, watching how elephants stay close and protect their weak, how lions hunt to keep their babies fed. It’s painful to watch another animal die, but some have to die, so others can feed their young. Very exciting show for animal lovers of all kinds. Wilderbeasts. Lions, Zebras, cougars, bababoons, wart hogs, you name it, if they are wild, there in Serengeti!

I’m not normally a fan of narrated animal stories but this series has been shot so beautifully and expertly edited to capture the stories of each family that it is compelling watching. You really feel like you’re right there with them living each moment of their precarious lives.

Purchased this to show to my high school science class. The stories are fictional but based on fact and scientifically plausible. Highly dramatized including pieced footage which includes some obvious mistakes and misrepresentations. Such as, in one kill scene the wildebeest had horns in the first shot, it didn’t in the second shot, then it did again in the 3rd shot. Obviously pieced from multiple sources. But educational and very enjoyable in spite of that.

This DVD is great for both adults and children – the photography is amazing (how could they possibly get some of these shots) and the editing puts it all together to form an engaging narrative. Definitely recommend!
