    It is full of step buy step instructions, advice, tips and techniques to guide the DBA both new and old on navigating Linux and getting the most out of it for the databases they maintain. If you are new to Oracle/Linux or an old school DBA you will utilize many of the tips or step by step instructions. This book can be read cover to cover or as a pure reference. From installing the basic kernel, patching up through scheduling maintenance tasks with shell scripting hints the book covers it all. Well worth the purchase.
