    { REVIEW }
    We have a TOYOTA RAV4 2003. Purchase it brand new in the end of 2002. Have had no problems with our SUV until it reach 80,000 miles when the ECU gave way and Toyota had it fix for free until the recall. Ignition Coil’s are expensive and like many people, I too also wanted to find cheaper alternatives.

    eBay was the source to find the lowest price you can get these Ignition Coils. I purchase a 4 set for $136, that’s $34 each coil and eBay seller states it came off Toyota cars that has been service but in still great condition. Well I replace the Original Ignition Coil on my Toyota RAV4 at 160,000 miles and also replace the Original Spark plug with all new Denso (3297) SK20R11 Iridium Spark Plug, all in MAY 2014. So far it seems to run even better after these replacements.

    But then came late DECEMBER 2015 and I started to notice that one of the Ignition Coil I purchase off eBay started to make some noise, like sparking way too much. So I decided this time around I will order straight from AMAZON (cheaper than the car dealership). I just replace all 4 Ignition Coils, this time I notice that the one I got on eBay were Made in the USA (sorry but they didn’t last) and these New ones from AMAZON are MADE in JAPAN.

    At 219,000 miles I had to replace the eBay Denso Made in USA Ignition Coils with AMAZON’s Denso MADE in JAPAN Ignition Coils. That means the other coil only lasted 59,000 miles. To my surprise these eBay Denso Ignition Coils are actually faulty but still runs. They cause my Denso (3297) SK20R11 Iridium Spark Plug to wear out faster too. See attached images. So I replace the Denso SK20R11 Spark Plus with Bosch (7957) FR8DCX+ Super Plus Spark Plug). Amazon states a recommended 0.44 Gap as these are NOT PRE-GAP. But in the Toyota Service manual, it states to gap it at 0.43 So I also purchase this Lisle 67870 Spark Plug Gauge Gap and Gap the Bosch to 0.43 for my TOYOTA RAV4 2003 2.0L

    Once you install all of these, the car will need time to auto correct the changes to the computer ECU and you might notice that your car is running rough. Just let it sit there for 10-15 minutes and then drive it around the block (stop & go), then drive it on the FWY at 55 MPH for like 5 mints and the car will read all the new setting with the new coils and spark plugs.

    { CONCLUSION }
    DON’T DO IT, DON’T buy it off eBay or Craigslist. I have and regret it. Sure I save some money but now I had to replace it with what I should of bought in the 1st place. Buy it on AMAZON Brand New and Sealed, MADE in JAPAN (not the Made in USA). My Toyota RAV4 runs smooth and has a quick response. At 219,000 miles running with pure Synthetic Motor oil since day 1, never had a single problem.

    Amazing.
    My car would stumble as if it was going to stall when quickly accelerating then decelerating, like when you’re driving swiftly through a subdivision.
    Idle was hesitant sometimes, I could feel like ignition was sometimes missing while in McDonald’s drive through.

    Full throttle acceleration was okay on the old coils (277,000Kms original), but it’s so much smoother now.
    Also, at half revs, the car accelerates harder now and smoother.

    Biggest difference though, is that the fuel consumption at 60-70 km/h is much lower which is nice.

    An independent shop that I really like/respect recommended these sensor coils vs OEM. The work perfectly and I can see the Toyota OEM coils that I replaced were made by Denso. Save some money from OEM, but better quality than the no-name brands!

    My car (2002 Camry SE) had been running rough lately. Soon the engine light began to blink. So I checked the codes, and realized I had some faulty Ignition coils. I had previously purchased a set of 4 bargain brand coils for around $60 about a year earlier (trying to pinch pennies lol). Needless to say, I learned my lesson lol. I decided to MAN UP & purchase a set of 4 Denso coils, the OEM version. One coil cost about the same as all 4 of the cheaper brand combined but it’s well worth the extra money. I bought a fresh set of Denso spark plugs (also OEM) to pair with the coils. They were easy to install & once I started the car, the engine light vanished. The Camry has some added power & acceleration to it now. No hesitation or idling issues either. As in most cases, you have to pay more for quality but it’s definitely worth it. Saves you lots of money (& stress) in the long run. Can’t beat OEM quality.

    Initially bought some off brand and seriously thought about paying 5 times as much. That’s a lot of cash! However, they work fantastic! The quality is amazing! If you are wondering if you should spend the cash, just do it. You can either go with OEM brand and KNOW it will work long or chance getting an off brand and have it go out on you sooner than later. Made my job easy! Now, I will have years of maintenance free operation!

    2006 RAV4: was misfiring cylinder #2 on rare ocassions, low end torque was brutal. Felt like the SUV was going to stall braking to 10km/hr while still rolling. Bought 4, and noticed a huge difference from the original old coils. Idle is way better (doesn’t fluctuate); power band is more linear; no more misfires. OEM part from Denso.

    So far it worked well on my Camry 2005 built in US, replace with original part #90080-19023. It is Denso and made in Japan base on the box. Hope it will last long. $60 for each, I think it is a good deal for Brand new and made in Japan by Denso.
