If you intend to keep your vehicle for more than five years, order a spare. Based on failure rate reports, this is not the most reliable part in your vehicle and it’s really annoying if the fans are electric. They will run and run after you turn off your vehicle (e.g. Corvette).

Great quality part has thread sealant already on the sensor and a copper crush washer. Bought this and a autozone sensor returned the autozone one due to the sealant feature. Only thing was shipping was delayed presumably because of a snow storm we got in the northern plains. Into northern MN where I’m located. But by the time I got around to doing this and the thermostat next to it just used the acdelco part. Easy insset. Unthread with 19mm that slips over the sensor (impact socket works) then put new one in and top off coolant less than 20 minutes to replace both (used Dorman thermostat assembly) on 2017 gmc sierra slt.

My 2016 silverado 1500 v6 4.3L was having issues relating to the fans staying on after shutting the engine off along with the temperature gauge sticking. After replacing the old sensor with this one my problem was solved.

I put this part on in about 20 minutes and all my problem was solved

Get this part when your Chevy engine fans keep running on max and your cooling temp is cold when it should be normal. Apparently this is a common failure part on Chevrolet engines. My 2015 Suburban started doing the noisy fan thing one day, with fans running for minutes even after engine shutoff. Found this part listed as the cause when searching for a resolution.
Installation is relatively easy. Just be careful with the locking mechanism on the connector. Search online for installation videos. 15 minutes later (and after disconnecting your car battery to have the ECU relearn that the sensor isn’t failed), everything will be back to normal. Almost no coolant spilled, just put a rag around the area and put the new part in quickly.

Fits perfectly on my 2017 Silverado. Temperature gage stopped working and my fans would stay on full blast even after turning off the truck. Problem solved after changing this and my thermostat
