My sending unit went bad in my 2001 Ram 1500..There is really no way to replace a sending unit so I replaced the whole module. The price here was better than anywhere else for a Airtex fuel pump! The unit came in a nice sized box protected perfectly from the rigors of shipping. The fuel pump is nice with a very good fuel strainer at the bottom of the pump to keep your fuel clean. Its easy to see why my truck has no need for fuel filters with a fuel pump strainer like this..Installation was simple and took about 3 hours. The hardest part was removing the old pump and fuel line fittings. Some fuel line fittings require a special tool and some just require a simple push. Mine required the tool and that took a little more time.. I had to use a Spanner wrench to pop the gas tank cover off and put it back on as well…If I ever replace a fuel pump in a truck in the future I will remove the truck bed versus dropping the tank.. It could of been so much easier to remove the bed because the tank is right there when you pull the bed up versus dropping the tank and trying to work on it in such a confined area. You live and learn…LOL After installation I hooked up the fuel line and pressure relief lines and cycle the on switch a few time and boooom! The truck started like a pro and my fuel gauge was back to working again! Overall I am 100% satisfied with this Airtex Fuel pump module! You cant find a better price anywhere else for a superior car part like Airtex…

I installed this part in a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500. It was an ease to install, fit perfectly, and works wonderfully. Should I ever need a replacement pump on one of my other vehicles, I’ll gladly, and without hesitation decide on an Airtex pump.

I liked how quite this pump was. Price is reasonable. My original fuel pump lasted 151,000 mi. on my 98 ram 1500 5.9l. I’m the original owner. This pump lasted 5 years, bought in 2016 only got 24,413 mi. Time wise lasted but mileage wise failed in my opinion caused me to shop else where. Retired now has cut my driving way down. Good luck if you buy this pump.

Bought this pump Jan 31, 2019 and was a problem. Amazon exchanged it for me so I did the second install in early February. April 26th, the replacement pump went out leaving me stranded. Not impressed. Now refund of purchase has timed out as well. I replaced the stranding pump with a used OEM rather than buy another of these because replacing a fuel pump 3 times in 3 months, getting stranded, and being towed is expensive and annoying. I would not install another one of these pumps if they gave it to me and paid for installation.

Item arrived on time in perfect condition, in size and protection appropriate packaging. I performed the R&R myself and the new unit went into the fuel tank and connected to the vehicle electrical and hoses without any issues whatsoever. Also, the installation directions included with the unit were well written and very helpful. Unfortunately, the new fuel pump did not solve the driveability issue I continue to have with my vehicle, but I knew I was taking a chance that it would do so. And since my vehicle is 16+ years old with over 100K miles on it, I don’t see the new pump as a wasted effort as I intend to keep the vehicle indefinitely.

The fuel pump pictured is the airtex model. I bought this specifically for the brand and quality that comes with. The fuel pump I removed looked identical to this picture and had stickers saying airtex e7138m but the new pump is different and no labels. There were no labels on the box, the pump, and no order form received. Time will tell if the pump lasts.
