The exhaust was great everything was there but it was used. The exhaust showed signs of use with there being some goo on the in the exhaust tips to scratches when it was maybe test fitted. Maybe a return or something. Was good other than that. Definitely not new.

Wasn’t sure about ordering direct from Amazon over other parts dealers, but I saved almost a hundred bucks and Prime shipping! The exhaust came in a pretty big package but much smaller than I expected. Everything was safely packaged together and there were no damaged parts. Instructions were OK – best to watch a few install videos if you plan on doing this yourself or just take it to a shop. I strongly suggest purchasing the Cobb hangar set to compliment this exhaust as it has 4 hangars and stock ST has 3 from the factory. The stock ones are also very flimsy.
The sound note of this exhaust cannot be beaten. I did a LOT of research before deciding to drop this kind of money on an exhaust. It purrs at idle, rumbles with light acceleration, and all the pops and gurgles coming off high revs and shifts. When you get into boost and are laying down on the throttle, the exhaust comes to life and ROARS.
Perfect for the person who wants something loud, but not too loud for it to be obnoxious to the neighbors. If you want a more refined slightly quieter variant then Ford Performance brand makes this kit rebranded but with a resonator. If you want something super loud all the time, probably isn’t the kit for you. There virtually no drone to this kit and won’t be a problem for the Wife/Kids/Headache.
If you are doing the install yourself, you’ll need to get the car jacked up as high as you can for the rear over-the-axle part. It was a pain for me but after bending in some of the heat shield for the hangar I was able to get it through no problem. There is an exhaust hangar that goes over the axle in the Cobb kit which was difficult to install but with time, patience and some muscle you can get it on.
Overall I am impressed with the system. It sounds good, looks good (LOOK AT THOSE TIPS), and changes the feel of the car. The stock exhaust is way too quiet and restrictive. You won’t see a huge boost in performance, but you will notice the difference. This is my first real bolt on I installed myself, so took a little longer than most but beat spending money at the shop (minus a few tools). Can’t go wrong with this system.

Came very well packaged with prompt shipping speed. Extremely satisfied with the build quality of this kit. I personally chose to clean some of the grime off the system and polished the muffler before installing it. I used rhino ramps to install the new system, cut off the old system in two places to remove. I hardly had enough room to get the new borla over-axle pipe in place as the angle needed is pretty steep. I ended up having to cut some metal shielding out of the way so the hanger could slide through. This however was not at all a fitment issue with the system, just the fact that I used ramps.
For those using ramps, it’s do-able, don’t freak out if you’re having a hard time fitting it. Use some tin snips to cut back some of the shielding to make a little gap for the hanger to slide past. Not sure if this can be done on jackstands alone.
The quality of steel in this system is 304 stainless, so I won’t have to worry about rusting any time soon while living in this unpredictable Ohio climate. The weight of this system is much less than other systems especially the stock one. It only has the one muffler, no resonator. I was initially worried about this system being too loud but was pleasantly surprised upon first startup that it wasn’t droning. I was used to driving a straight piped Toyota Celica that droned like no other before I got this ’17 ST. Drone on this is essentially non existent. Good tone while cruising, gurgles in between shifts, and has good tone when getting on it. It personally makes shifting easier as I can base it more off exhaust tone rather than reading the tach. At warm idle, it has basically no volume; maybe 1-2 decibels over stock. Again, I was used to a straight pipe Celica that had drone at idle and any rpm nearly bad enough to make ears bleed. This exhaust is no where near too loud. It’s perfect tone. Not hard at all to hold a conversation over it while driving.
Keep in mind, 2015+ “facelift” models stock exhausts use 3 hangers, while this has 4, so the 4th hanger is empty. I purchased the cobb poly hanger kit to go with this system which includes the 4th hanger. It’s best to purchase them at the same time to save the trouble.
In conclusion, I am very pleased with this system. Borla was kind enough to throw in a complimentary Borla hat and (1) black decal and (1) white decal. The system is beautifully put together, functions well, and sounds even better. 5/5 stars all across the board. Any questions, feel free to post.

This exhaust was perfect for what I was looking for. The 304 stainless steel is much better and worth the extra cost if you don’t want your exhaust to rust in the long run especially if you live in areas where they salt the roads in the winter. There is no resonator like the picture shows, it comes with the muffler, two exhaust clamps, mid pipe, and long pipe running to connect to the downpipe and screws are included to connect to the downpipe. Directions are also included for installation. There is no replacement exhaust gasket with this but you can use the one from the stock exhaust. I would recommend buying stiffer exhaust hangers to go with this as the stock ones are very very soft and will make the exhaust vibrate. Overall the exhaust sound is outstanding. It gurgles in low gears when slowing down and is not overwhelmingly loud when normal driving. If you really step on the gas and let the turbo spool it gets really nice and loud. There is almost no drone at all and with windows down or music on, you won’t notice it. You won’t be attracting cops with this unless you’re really hitting the gas hard all the time. They also sent me a Borla hat as well which was a nice addition.
