While the Dry Flow Filter Wrap is not designed to prevent hydrolock (the intake is submerged and draws water into the throttle body), it does a fantastic job of repelling droplets of water from the surface of the filter. I modified my car’s bumper to allow air to directly flow onto the filter, but of course the downside is water can splash onto the filter itself. While this doesn’t cause much concern for hydrolock, what it does do is expose the filter to getting wet, which severely effects intake function. Furthermore, water damage (rust, mold, etc) on the surface of the filter will lead to the need to replace the rather pricey filter. This Dry Flow wrap is a highly hydrophobic and perfectly-fit tool to prevent water from permeating the surface of your air filter. I cannot recommend this part enough!

Saved my butt. Seriously. My car would suck water in rain, not even heavy rain. (civic, close to the ground) my cold air is in the driver-side wheel-well. I was really worried whether this would work or not. It DID work. I highly recommend cleaning your filter first when you are in there before putting this on. So happy I bought this. Car stopped sputtering, no more water in my intake.
Obviously… you can’t submerge it… it just keeps the water splashing on your intake filter from going up into the engine. I might install a flex-valve at some point, but for now, this is doing the trick perfectly.

You open the package and it’s just a tiny, thin piece of fabric. Probably the most expensive piece of fabric I’ve ever bought. Yet it should last a long time and honestly I see it as a worthwhile investment. Perhaps the cost is just to cover the cost of research & development on this, since it’s hard to believe this thing actually costs close to that much to manufacture.
Anyway, cost aside, I am happy with this purchase. I wanted to make sure I could actually have confidence in this product’s performance, so I put it under my kitchen faucet for a few seconds. All the water runs straight off, just like those fancy dress pants you can buy.
The reason I bought this in the first place was that driving in Utah rain/snow used to make my car struggle a little bit at low RPMs. After putting this on my filter that is no longer an issue; drives the exact same in snow as it does in dry weather. So again, very happy. It was a little bit tricky to put on since it is super tight fitting onto AEM’s standard filter, so it was like trying to stretch a fitted queen bedsheet over a king size mattress. But I got it on and everything’s working great.

It’s a VERY snug fit to the AEM 21-205bf filter. I would rate it a 5 star but there is zero information or a fitment guide for aems filters. I had to gamble on this filter sock and hope it would fit.

Bought this by mistake a while ago, since i have a cold air intake, i installed it. I saw some reviews about chocking the engine out of air, but since my car has a turbo i dont feel it, so overall great product. Also my filter is not an AEM its a Specter

Bought this cause i just put hood vents on my Subaru STi. This fits perfectly over a cobb filter!!! Testing it by dipping my hand in a bucket of water holding tissue paper and nothing got wet. AEM is amazing!!

es bueno con gotas de agua pero no es para exagerar con chorros de agua es una medida muy chica solo filtros pequeños el de la fotografÃa es uno de 16.51 cm o 6.50 in

A little expensive, but cheap when looking at it from an insurance perspective when driving in the rain with an open filter. I do NOT have an AEM filter, this is actually a SPECTRE air filter from Autozone. Fit perfectly and couldn’t be any happier with my purchase.

I bought this to try for my race filter but it is a bit on the small size to go around the whole filter cone. The elastic is not very strong either and I’m a bit worried it might come off while driving. Tried it on my spare aem non-race filter and it fit around the whole cone but like I say the elastic was not strong enough to my liking.
So is it worth it to help prevent dust and possibly water from splashing on the filter or being sucked in to engine? I’ll say no, I would spend the $40+ on something else.

Installed the aem v2 intake on my 00 integra gsr. Added this filter sock with it to help protect the filter from sucking up any water. Fits great. Shouldn’t affect air flow at all. High quality and looks nice. Easy to install. Highly recommend.
