Ordered this battery for a winch for pulling up a dock and boat lift. Works extremely well and am very satisfied. JAMES was very helpful and gives great advise as to the care of the battery to prolong the life span. Will not hesitate to purchase through Them again.

Have used optima batteries for years and they lasted for years and were always excellent and dependable.
They are not worth the price paid anymore.
No better than bimart cheap batteries.
    They are flat out junk.
Amazon is no help for warranty and does not stand behind these batteries.
Definitely a rip off for the money spent.
    Both of mine have failed.
Won’t take a full charge or hold a charge.
Definitely would not buy optima batteries ever again.
    Very disappointed.
    Save your money.

Living in an area of the United States where temperatures can get really cold. This battery fires up my 1996SilveradoZ71 on first try. Top post makes it convenient for jump starts as well.

Put these in all my vehicles, last forever and haven’t had one fail yet. This seller is amazing to work with and I will definitely be using them again in the future.

The battery stopped holding a charge after not even 500kilometers. I tried contacting manufacturer several times without success. I want to be contacted by Amazon not a third party seller. Look at all the items that I’ve purchased through Amazon the least you can do is explain why an item that I purchased for my vehicle driven sparingly in the summer months only not driven in winter is no longer working Waiting to hear from Amazon.

Darned oddest battery ever. Had it 3 years, it sat a lot, I cranked on it to ocassionally spin over and then start an engine in a Chevy Luv… like no resistance, right? It was also used to test aftermarket GM wiring kit circuits as they went… Even with the alternator not working… it would bounce back with ocassional charging. It proved to be one tough battery.

Then a couple months ago I got the alternator sorted out, and got 14 volts… and was a happy camper… the engine ran strong and didn’t die from running down the battery anymore. (missed exciter wire cuz Hitachi Delco instructions didn’t indicate need for one but the wiring kit did)

That was until two days ago with one more circuit to hook up to be street legal… The weather had turned last month but it rarely got below freezing and the Luv is in an attached but unheated garage. Nontheless the battery went completely dead… like to no nothing, zero, ziltch, no meter, no test light dead… bummer. So out came the charger.

After charging overnight It would barely light the test light and showed 4 volts. So I kept on it until the green light lit on the charger, and proceeded to test it this afternoon. No change. How frustrating.

At that stage I figure I can’t ruin it, so I left it on the charger for a couple more hours and then went back out to check on it… Hmmm… the green light was out and the yellow ones were back on.. meaning it’s charging again.

So for curiosity I unhooked the charger and tested the battery… 11.70 volts. Hey hey.. From there I tested that last circuit (wiper washer motor)… and got a buzz… that’s better, even the headlights worked… maybe all is not lost.

From what I’m getting to understand through trial and error, and many reviews; they’re weird. In charging they must hit a level where the charger is forced to push through some kind of resistance before it really takes hold. The battery has a diconnect to prevent drawdowns, and the charger is the proper kind.

I am a little taken aback by how quickly temps between 28 and 45 degrees killed it. I have a grody 10 year old battery from Les Schwab I use on a winch… and it showed 13 volts today… it hasn’t been on a charger since spring… I’d run it in the Luv, but won’t fit. Even the cheesy WalMart special in our lawn tractor holds up better in the cold.

    Weird.

I wouldn’t use Optimas in all of my cars and trucks, but in my valued stable including a 25 year old Corvette and 22 year old GTO…they get the Optima. Optimas never leak battery acid like normal lead-acid batteries, so for those auto investments you might have (or a vehicle that has to be stone dead reliable), Optima is the one you want.

I’ve been using the battery for a couple of years now. Not only was it cheaper than the local stores, there’s also no core charge. As for the battery, I often use the beat in my vehicle to listen to music while I’m is the yard for hours then crank up the next day when I leave. Also where I live is prone to blackouts. This battery runs my inverter so much longer than the original Tahoe battery did.

Llego con dos años en su sello y hubo que cargarlo para que pudiera funcionar. Mal por parte del vendedor, la batería que compré tiene menos años de vida que lo que esperaba.

I was surprised that after installing this battery, the accessories seemed to work better that they did with standard lead-acid batteries.
