So far so good. The battery fit just fine in a 2014 Chevy Volt. Only change to the original battery seems to be that the handle is in the opposite direction to the original battery so the plastic assembly will sit on top of it.

There are slots on the side so the plastic assembly that holds all the + connections will plug in fine.

No hardware was included (at least not in my box) for the venting, but I just reused the hardware in place for the old battery. Vent is in the same spot.

My battery came in at 12.5V so I topped it off overnight on a trickle charger before installing it. That seems to be par for the course from the other reviews I read.

A couple of things to note:

My battery shipped from Lakeland FL. Adjust your expectations for delivery times accordingly. Mine took exactly a week from FL to AZ, and thus beat its estimated delivery time by a day.

It was shipped UPS ground. I am NOT a fan of UPS. My package was left on its side with the arrows (indicating the side to be up) pointing to the side. That would of been something not to be so happy about, were it not for the fact that the battery shipping box had the arrows pointing one way, and the external box, had its arrows pointing to another. I wonder if there is a reason the original box had arrows on it… hmmm….. Speaking of the boxes, while what appears to be the box the battery was shipped from the manufactured was quite good, with ample padding, the amazon box and the included padding did not inspire much confidence, though uncharacteristically for UPS the package arrived in non Ace-Ventura condition.

The code on my battery is P078R, and if what another user wrote is accurate the battery was built on July of 2018. This would make my battery hanging out for about 4 months or so before I got a hold of it.

I was remiss in checking out the country of manufacture. Someone mentioned these are made in Germany, which would mean they would probably not be East Penn batteries.

This was the lowest priced option for battery for my Volt. We will see how it holds up.

EDIT: It’s been 14 months since I put the battery in and as far as I can tell, so far so good. Unfortunately the price seems to have gone up since I bought it so I can say with certainty that now it is NOT the lowest priced AGM option for a Volt. However it still works fine. When/if it fails I will be sure to update the review. Typically batteries do not live a long life in Arizona but the original Delco somehow made it 5 years.

EDIT 2: Battery is still holding up fine 16 months or so into it, however now it is definitely not the lowest AGM priced option for a Volt battery. Last I had checked Costco’s competitor had the right type of battery at a lower price, and quite a few people on the Volt group seem to be happy with it. If my Volt’s HV battery lasts another 4 years, I don’t think I will care much at that point about whether the 12V battery needs replacing or not 🙂

EDIT 3: coming up on 4 years and it still works fine. I did something stupid last year when I went overseas and left the car outside and did not put it in “shipping mode” so when I came back a month later the battery was deader than a door nail (I want to say in the 2volt range but I could be totally wrong but it was something horribly low). Put it on my Schumacher wheeled charger twice (needed an extra cycle) and has been working fine since. Can’t say I remember why I took a star off but if it makes it another year after this it’s getting its fifth star back since it will have matched the OEM.

Just got the battery, it is on the charger now. It is about 6 month old and it was a little bit discharged. The strange thing is, there is no mention of where it was made! Not sure I like that… The design is different than the photos here as it has a mounted foldable handle on top, in the middle, from side2side. I think it is a rebranded Deka battery.

Excellent product quality. Arrived within 2 days. Well packaged. Voltage at 12.7 V, as expected. Very satisfied. This was a perfect fit for the MiniCooper 2011.

Worked great when first installed. Figured I was good to go for at least 3 years. Started noticing that the starter was cranking a little slower after about 5 months of use. At 7 months the battery required a jump every time to start the vehicle. Took the battery to the local auto parts store to have tested and it came up as a bad battery. Now I have to figure out how to get the battery replaced under warranty.

After seeing signs that the battery in my car was starting to die (tough to start or dead after not driving it over the weekend), it was time to replace my battery before it left me stranded somewhere.

This isn’t the OE sized battery for my car (2003 BMW M3) but it is a known and documented “upgrade” (this is the same size as the E46 M3 CSL’s battery) to save a few dollars and some weight from the 45lb factory battery. It fits in the original battery location without any modifications. I don’t usually sit and listen to music in my car with the engine off so I can’t say how much capacity it has but it hasn’t missed a step at starting up my engine since I’ve installed it nearly a month ago.

Of the AGM Group 47 batteries I could find, AC Delco had the longest warranty (36 months).

Initially I was worried I was going to get a battery that’s been sitting on the shelves for a while but I was pleasantly surprised to find out my batter was manufactured within in the same month as me receiving it at my front door. I was also pleased to find out the battery was made in Germany, which means it is likely a Bosch made battery that is sold by AC Delco.

Since I had a Battery Tender on hand, I decided to “top off” the battery overnight before installing it. I’m not sure how necessary it was to do so but I wanted to make sure it could start easily.

Installation into my car was easy, thanks to the convenient carry handle.

After hooking up the battery, my car cranked over easily. So far, it has not hesitated to start my car in the morning. The ultimate test will be in the cold come next winter.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

Used this to upsize a stock battery for some more cold cranking amps; it delivered very well (as expected) during the warm months but as soon as the temperature dropped it failed to deliver enough voltage to even crank the engine; even after a jump and some driving, still failed. Some time on the charger helped for a little, then cold brought on more failure. Ignition relays ruled out as cause. Pretty wretchedly abysmal performance for the expenditure and almost certainly the last time auto battery not purchased at a brick and mortar store. Put the stock size, over 10 year old battery back in and no problems since, despite temperatures around 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
