I have heard Great things about these however when you wait for them to come in and they don’t come with new hardware it makes it tough to do an install without waiting another day or two for a hardware kit. This would be the first set of pads I have bought in over 15 years that haven’t included the bare install kit

UPDATE 2022:
After the original install in 2011, I replaced these again in 2017 and now here in 2022 I’m ordering another set at about 182k miles preparing because I know they’re getting close to replacing, but they’re still taking a beating.
+++++++++++++++
I have a Ford Excursion that went 88k miles before I touched the brakes. The were far from perfect, but not near as bad as some Ford Super Duty trucks. Mine were typical, under certain conditions would pulse badly, fade easily under hard braking and even under normal conditions would often give me a good wobble. But they worked and for over 7 years of in town driving as well as towing a 7500# boat, sometimes with the trailer brakes disabled.
After years of hearing recommendations of Hawk Pads, both with stock rotors and with after market rotors, I bit the bullet and took a chance that they really would be that good and worth the money. They aren’t, unless you think solid, smooth brakes that not only don’t fade, but increase smooth solid braking under those hard core conditions where you’d expect fade!!!!
I replaced my brakes with Power Slot rotors (standard, not cyro’d) and Hawk LTS pads after many years of recommendations for applications like mine, heavy duty truck that is used for all kinds of conditions from grocer getter to long distance hauler in all kinds of conditions.
I never expected the results I got. Often, even under heavy braking, I find myself backing off the brake peddle as the brakes increase grab on their own, and smooth as butter. Because the pads are filling a need of a balance of smooth and quiet passenger car pads (not great for HD braking) and squeaky loud commercial pads (meant to stop heavy loads, and often, without being effected by heat, but usually very noisy) ever so often I’ll hear a little squeak which is normal, and doesn’t last.
I followed the bedding process to a T, which may take some planning because you won’t want to be doing it in traffic. You’ll smell the brakes burning, you’ll see smoke and as in my case, had a car drop way back behind me and stop way short of an intersection as I complete the final “braking” step, prior to cooling them down. I didn’t know what was going on until I came to a stop and saw and smelled the massive cloud of brake smoke come around me from the dark!
However, the brakes are fantastic and I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined an 8000+ truck would stop so easily, and as smooth as butter from any speed and any load, and that includes with a 7500# trailer with the trailer brakes disabled!
I was skeptical so I carefully followed the directions for bedding them (some call braking or burning them in). Every story I’ve heard of problems with Hawk LTS pads are cases where they did not go through the bedding process at all, only partially because they tried to do it at a time and on roads that traffic would not allow it or waited and did it later, after the brakes had been used (which in fact bed them, incorrectly)!! The process is required for a reason, the material has to reach those high temps to not only mate to the rotor, but to condition the pad to operate as it should. Even standard passenger car brakes should be bedded to get the best performance a life out of them, it’s just a simpler process.
Brakes aren’t something to cheap out on and these are well worth it for the application they are intended!!!

Finally brake pads that worked, and lasted, for my fat beast! We put these on our 2000 Excursion diesel and hit the jackpot. They are now the only brake pads my husband will buy.
We live in hills and curves plus tow regularly. Our trips to the coast and mountain campgrounds include more hills and curves. With OEM parts we used to eat brakes (pads, calipers, and rotors) every 12-18 months (~12,000 miles). Using all Powerstop brake components we upped that to 18-24 months (~20,000). Then, we replaced the Powerstop pads with these green Hawk Performance pads (keeping with the red Powerstop rotors and calipers). We finally found THE combination for heavy vehicles like our Excursion.
The picture we included is of these pads after 16 months of use. (We had to replace the front brakes because a sneaky, sticky caliper roasted the left front.) The Powerstop set included pads but we will absolutely be switching back to these green Hawk Performance pads in about 18 months.
Try them. You won’t regret it!

Put these babies on the rear of my Excursion along with new high carbon rotors. They’re working quite well. This isn’t my first experience with Hawk pads, they’re great.

Replaced my factory Ford pads on my 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty 4X4 with Hawk LTS pads after using factory pads for 16 years. Less pedal pressure needed to slow or stop, and seem to last for miles on my truck, which has heavier 35” tires. Only thing I would advise is to upgrade to the Super Duty pads if you tow a lot. Towed our 5,500 lb RV from the west coast to the east coast last summer, and by the time I got home the pads were glazed and beginning to squeal. To Hawks’ credit, their website does advise to upgrade the pads if you tow frequently.

Heavy duty, right blend for moderate towing coupled with daily driving. Have used several times over life of 99 F250 Super Duty.

Great product. Stopping power not extremely noticeable on these because they are for the back. When put these on the front. What a perfect team. You better have good rotors to go with them. When you want to stop an excursion. These are what you buy.

OMG! I love the stopping power I have now since I installed these pads (front and back). My 99 F-250 7.3 Superduty hasnt stopped this well since I owned it (15 years). I also added power slot cryogenic rotors when Hawk pads went in (front and backs). I’m not impressed much but these really impressed me. Thank you.
