I ordered this to replace another older (no touchscreen) JVC stereo in my 2013 Elantra. This stereo is really good so far with amazing sound. I was worried it would be laggy and the touchscreen would be delayed but it’s surprisingly really good and responsive.

It only took a few minutes after wiring up the harness to have the system installed and tuned to my liking. Big improvement over the Kenwood single DIN I was rocking. The touchscreen is very responsive, the UI is intuitive (except turning off demo mode). The EQ and X-over functions are easy to use, which is a far cry from the Pioneer double-din I have in my other vehicle. I don’t think the Pioneer was intended for use by anyone with hands bigger than an 8 year old. There are no bars to slide around on this JVC, you simply click up or down and adjust Hz in increments. Bluetooth was easy to setup and my phone was connected in seconds.

2 Months later, Cons: I’d like to have a volume control for the “beep” but the only options are LOUD AF and off. The control to turn off Demo mode is in Video Settings for some strange reason. Why do they even have Demo mode anymore, and why is it on by default? Circuit City was still open the last time I went to a store and looked at a working head unit, and even then the Demo was just intrusive. USB Drive and MP3’s: If you press the “back” arrow, it doesn’t go back to the beginning of the song. It skips to the start of the previous song. Why? If you press the forward arrow, it starts the next song 5 seconds in. Who would want that feature? Also, one out of every 20 or 30 times I start my car, the unit just decides not to turn on. It has power, lights are lit, but I have to shut the car off and turn it back on for it to function. The bar that pops up when you raise or lower the volume blocks the forward and back arrows so you have to wait a couple of seconds for it to disappear if you want to change songs. The volume buttons are not fat-finger-friendly at all. You will end up muting the audio far more often than you want to. The X-Over seems to work well but you only have the option to lower the DB for the 3 separate sets of speakers. Instead of having the front set at +2Db, rears at 0Db and subwoofer at -1, you have 0, -2 and -3. There is no save option for settings, so every time you disconnect the battery you have to reset the EQ and X-Over.

JVC, why are you only supplying one subwoofer output??? You do know that the vast majority of songs are not recorded mono, right? I get it, there are a lot of people with class D mono amps, but I should still have the option to play my lows in stereo. In fact, that’s one of the main reasons I run dual mono amplifiers instead of one big one. What if I want to watch Jurassic Park with surround sound? I’ll never know what direction the T-Rex is coming from because of YOU, JVC! I hope no one on your design team ever dares call themselves audiophiles…

If those things won’t bug you too much, pay the lower cost. Personally, I will try another brand next time even if it’s $20 or $40 more.

Put this in a 2002 Chevy Silverado it fit great with it’s short chassis, I put a new dash design t fit this truck and a metro 95-303G mount kit, I finally had to get a metro 89-50-0900 trim kit for a trim ring to look right I recommend it if you put a double din in these vehicles design for a din and a half stereo. Used the middle trim piece had to trim the to right corner but I Angeles the file to file off the inside of the trim piece to fit the shape of the dash then used black double side tape to stick to the dash worked great.
Now for the stere I went through 3 knock off stereo (all around 100$ a piece) every one had alternator noise I always put back my single din kenwood and sent them back it had very little alt. Noise (I put in new grounds and completely got rid of the noise in my kenwood but still had it in the knockoff stereo) but this kick had great sound and worked flawlessly I like the backup camera picture when you put it in reverse. The only thing I don’t like about it is no volume knob but I knew that going in and not going to knock it for that but the remote does help with that (I did not know kenwood and jvc are the same company now so my kenwood remote works with this unit,it is really a kenwood that why it works so good

This is my personal radio I’m running components on my front doors and 5×7 on rear doors, the sound quality is great cannot complain the looks of it is really good too fits my truck perfect, the only down side is that android 11 is no longer compatible with mirror screen so you lose that feature altogether, I couldn’t take a star off since the problem is not with the product but more with my phone’s O S really let me down since this is the main feature I bought it for, response can be a bit laggy at times nothing major, but if you’re buying this because of the mirroring I wouldn’t recommend it since apple and android are leaning towards android auto or apple carplay and no longer supporting the screen mirroring through usb

Stereo has good sound and nice features. JVC parent company is Kenwood and the quality is apparent. Used the Metra installation kit in a 2006 Lincoln truck and it worked without modification.

Did my own install ( 2004 Honda Civic ). Wire labelling is good. All hardware included except for back-up cam ( different model? ). I routed the usb plug underneath where a switch might go & glued mic to the left of the unit. I did not try screen mirroring yet because you have to hook up the green wire to the E-brake safety circuit.
So far the unit sounds great. Screen sensitivity is good and most important: The clock has no delay. Clock seems to be keeping regular time. Bluetooth works great. Seems like a quality unit. Only feature I would like is the ability to change screen colors. For the $, its great.

I was able to install this stereo in my 1989 Camaro period being the shallow depth of this stereo, it was able to fit nicely period this is a good radio, has good sound and good quality for an older radio.

Was easy to install. The Bluetooth works great, touch screen functions as it should and seems to work great in all conditions. The unit looks great in the 05 Subaru bringing it up to date from the old unit. Sound clarity is great at all speeds with good speakers.
