Iโve been putting these in cars for years. Much better than Philips. Never had one blow so good value too

These are not blue lights. Don’t buy them if you want that bright blue look. The light they give off is white and you can’t see blue in them while you’re driving – but other drivers and pedestrians will note a hint of blue in them as they see you coming.
Easy to install yourself, these are standard light bulbs for a lot of cars. They are not high-definition and they do not require a conversion kit. If you aren’t sure how to install them just look up videos online for your car or similar models. Amazon is great for also verifying whether or not they fit on your car.
They are nice and bright, I really like not having the yellow standard bulbs any more. Really happy with the purchase, I just hope they last a long time (high definition bulbs may only last you a few months according to some reviews – this is one of the main reasons why I am sticking with standard installation bulbs).

Purchased a pair of PIAA white’s in 1999 for a 1997 Acura. That pair are still on the same car and working like new and much brighter than the OEM. Bought a new car (Toyota) and was not happy with the OEM’s. Dealt with it for a year and finally bought these PIAA’s. HUGE improvement! No more yellow! They have a slight hint of blue which is what I wanted (looks more of a crisp white). I did not want to look too fake/blue like you see often. These are amazing and worth the $. Shipping was so fast with my prime membership ๐
** UPDATE 1/15/14 ** last night the left bulb blew out! No install error here as I installed without allowing my hands to touch the bulb (even used rubber gloves when touching the metal) and the bulb was never dropped. I am CHANGING my review to a 1 star and will choose a different brand to replace. PIAA offers a one year term for replacement. Thanks a lot…

Lasted 3 years, because my 2005 Tacoma doesn’t have daytime running lights, these lights were on anytime the truck was moving. These seem to be the exact same as I purchased before, same model number, same packaging and I ordered by using the buy again link on Amazon earlier order – it was even $.80 less expensive
I liked these so much on my motorcycle I installed them on my truck. Are slightly whiter than normal driving lights but not as white (blue) as the obnoxious lights installed by some folks, and are bright enough to extend my night vision distance a noticeable amount.

I’ve used Super PIAA Whites for decades. The white light is great, but I find that I’ve only gotten about 4 years max out of them. On my current vehicle it is a PITA to change the bulbs and I just had the first one (bought new) fail after 3.5 years. That’s just too short for the price. Not sure if I will buy PIAA again.

I use these bulbs in many of my bikes. It is amazing how much more light output they achieve without increasing consumption of power. My lukewarm response on ease of installation reflects the bikes they are installed in, not the bulbs themselves. It is amazing how difficult an expected maintenance procedure — like replacing a headlight bulb — can be.

The H4/9003 bulbs fit my 2011 Honda Element even though Amazon says it wouldn’t. Not a bright white, but much better than the typical amber. One bulb lasted me 5 years, and the other is still going.

I have always hated the trend of putting LEDs in cars built for halogen bulbs. People will argue that LEDs are brighter. Without getting too into it… most LEDs are not properly designed for your halogen light housing which will cause them to just scatter light. Yes, it’ll be brighter – to oncoming traffic, but it won’t help you see any better. What’s the solution? GOOD halogen bulbs. PIAA makes a super clean bright light that is an improvement over standard OEM in every way. I throw PIAA in everything I own when it comes time to replace them.

Compared my old halogen bulb to this one after replacing the first one and the difference was amazing. Significantly brighter / whiter light from the PIAA. I have about 6,000 Kms on the bike (about 120 hours) and no failures. Had to break off one tab on the base to get the bulb to fit into the socket but after that it went in perfectly.

Don’t be put off by the blue tint on these bulbs, the light that comes out of them is perfectly white. In my opinion, that is the biggest factor – the color. The brightness is merely ‘noticeably better’ than the stock OSRAM halogens that the car came with, 14 years ago. (Seriously, never replaced them. 14 years, used as DRL’s and everything. Impressive.)
I got these thinking that those old ones were, well… old. I contemplated HID’s, but for those to be any good, you need to retrofit the reflector housing with a projector, and I wasn’t prepared to a. spend that much, nor b. do the work necessary. LED bulbs were another choice, but the reviews seem like they only give a marginal improvement over halogens and the technology is relatively new. I went with high-end halogens instead.
These lights, let me tell you, were a pain in the butt to install, but it is not the fault of the lights themselves, but rather the car. The old bulbs had been in there for 14 years and pretty much welded themselves to the connectors, so it took literally all of my strength to pull the connector from the old bulbs’ three prongs on the back. However, the actual installation of the BULBS was a piece of cake. Slide it in, clip the clips, plug it in. Done.
Performance:
At first, I replaced only one bulb, so I had PIAA on the right, 14-year-old OSRAM on the left. PIAA was definitely brighter – but only enough for me to notice, ya know? Not like POW but more of a “oh hey, yeah it’s brighter.” But the biggest difference was the color. I never thought the light from the old bulbs was “yellow” per se, but next to this light, yes definitely – this PIAA is what I’d call perfect white.
Driving at night, the brightness difference is only marginal, but definitely noticeable; again, the biggest difference being the color of the light. The botts dots are much more visible (they seem to reflect more) with these bulbs, on both low and high beam. That’s the biggest change. The color is a lot more pleasing to use and VISIBILITY is increased, but brightness is only marginally better.
In conclusion. Yes, brighter, but only a bit. Color is the biggest difference (it’s perfect) and does contribute significantly to the improved visibility.
