I don’t know much about cars so this is really useful for me to know if theres something minor that needs to be fix in my car rather than have it checked everytime for minor issues and get charged outrageously high. Also, it is very easy to navigate the scanner, the interface is very easy to understand. This device gives very accurate reading and provides a lot information. It can erase codes as well or just google what the codes means and various solutions can be found.
Very good Quality yet very affordable and the best part is it gets free software and firmware updates. Every car owner should have this on their cars, I just wish it comes with a case.

I saw a video for this item before purchasing. The device was promoted as being compatible with my vehicle, so I moved forward with the purchase. Since I viewed the entire online video, I reviewed the instructions after using; it was actually that simple to use. The instructions are important because the scanner does provide a good information, so you really have to know what the codes mean. Google was actually valuable when researching the code. The device was ready to go right out of the package. I simply connected it to my vehicle per the instructions and within seconds, I had a code for what was going on with my vehicle. The car dealership wanted $200 for a diagnostic scan, so I elected to use this device first to make sure that I had a some idea about what was going on before returning to the dealership. To confirm the scanner’s accuracy, I went to an automotive store that runs diagnostic scans for free and the result was the same. At that point, I felt more confident about the needed repair, pricing etc.

Serves purpose, but I feel it’s costly. Now a days small BLUETOOTH OBD devices with app on your phone, does more or less similar work.

Works ok but resets the Malfunction Imdicator Light (MIL) every time I hook it up meaning I can’t get it inspected for some time after I’ve used it. The MIL indicates that the car has gone through the entire routine diagnostic cycle that it does continually. If it lights, there’s a problem. If it stays off, you should be OK. However if you try to verify the OK status, your MIL goes back to zero, the light goes out and your system diagnostics start from scratch. This is a fatal flaw because it means that using this machine will make it impossible for you to get your car inspected until the entire normal auto diagnostic system runs its normal course again. Usually days. And, do not hook it up again just to check or you will be reset back to zero on the MIL.
Additionally, the controls are counter intuitive in some elements.
Overall, not terrible, ok for reading codes and even real time data, but I would not buy again because it resets the MIL every time and it should not do that.

This is a great tool to keep in you car, I’ve never used a scanner but this scanner was self explanatory plug it in hit ok and it will give you the codes that are causing your check engine light to light up, you can also press on the code and then scanner will give you a brief description of the problem and how to fix it, it also will clear all codes for a fresh scan to see if you have fix the issues great easy tool to have and the software updates are free they supplied the correct cord to plug into your computer or laptop to install the new updated firmware when needed. I’ve dropped it a few times the durability is awesome not a scratch on it..

The throttle position sensor on my Yamaha motorcycle was faulty and needed to be replaced. Yamaha claims their “special tool” was needed. The live data streaming allowed me to install and set the sensor without taking it to the dealer. Because of the labour to remove parts to get to the sensor the cost would have been minimum $400.00! It took me about 2 hours to do the job with this code reader and put the bike back together! Money well spent…easy to use…and great quality.
