I bought this leaf blower specifically for clearing leaves from my roof valleys, not the lawn. Its compact size and sufficient airflow make it perfect for this task without being bulky or heavy. It has three airflow settings, though I mostly use the highest. While it handles larger leaves well, it struggles to clear smaller leaves from between grass blades, so if lawn cleanup is your main goal, consider a blower with higher CFM. Battery compatibility with my other Makita 18V tools adds great value. Overall, it’s ideal for light-duty tasks and specific areas—5 stars for my purposes.

Great light-weight tool with lots of force. Works as is, but even better with the hose extension for direct contact with the ground. Definitely sufficient for keeping our deck clear and blowing leaves around the yard, and no need for us to buy a commercial-grade blower. Also has a vacuum ability with the bag accessory, but we found that to be kind of a wasted purchase compared to a shop vac or portable Dyson, for example.

I have bought it for the garden. It works, especially for sweeping the path and porch, but my garden is too large, and I bought the larger variety. I would recommend it for smaller garden like townhouse. And of course, this devise is excellent for the woodworking.

It’s not powerful enough to clean leaves. Perfect to clean workspace and starting fire on a campsite or inflate mattresses.
I got the bag to use it as a vacuum cleaner but it’s not working well as a vacuum cleaner.
Still, very handy, useful, small tool for limited use.

I also own the 36V Makita blower and I use this small one more often. No, there is no real power comparison between them but the small one is powerful enough for most jobs. It is far lighter and quieter and believe it or not, most of the time, it feels more accurate. This is especially true indoors and around my truck and RV. It probably won’t blow the leaves on your lawn that well but cleaning off the porch is doable. The picture shows the difference in sizes.

Be ready to buy a new battery! We have an 18V LXT Makita vacuum and were excited to get
the 18V LXT battery powered cordless blower. But our old battery does not fit?! The battery tray is exactly the same except for small additional connector on the blower that prevents our 18V LXT battery from being accepted. Now if I buy a new battery, would it fit in my charger? I do not know that. Be ready to buy a new charger too. I am returning this. I am not interested in having different batteries and different chargers for every product.
