As I have mentioned in other reviews I and replacing my old Black n Decker equipment with products from Milwaukee (team Red) which is a significant investment. However I didn’t want to windup random equipment and batteries etc so I have settled on Team Red.
Now this unit is large and heavy especially with a large capacity battery, so bear that in mind. I have a large landscaping project on that i am using large gauge and long landscaping screws.
if you are building a fences or a light retaining walls , the 12 volt impact wrench or hex driver will be better suited to long days working in tight or confined spaces.
Having said all that, this unit is absolutely the best hex driver I have ever used.

It’s a beast! Do yourself a favour and buy the Milwaukee bits for this.
Don’t listen to anyone say that their DeWalt, Makita or Hilti bits won’t break in this as it’s snapped every single brand that’s not Milwaukee.
Don’t borrow others bits let them borrow your tool!
This thing is powerful. Wheel bolts come off in seconds. Thunderbolt bolts go down with ease and it will break fully cured chemfix.
This isn’t an impact for a season, it’s an impact for life. My kids kids will cherish their granpa’s red impact!

It seems to be a brand new Milwaukee tool. Not signs of use or refurbishment. I’ve already put the battery in and it feels good and powerful. I will give it the first use tomorrow and let you know how it goes…. It would great if they could put a secondary box as packaging to protect the main box and product. This one was damaged in the bottom right corner perhaps by the parcel company. Thanks!

My 12 year old Milwaukee impact was starting to get a little long in the tooth. Being used and abused daily it was to be expected. So I decided to try this little monster. In my research. It is supposedly the best impact from Milwaukee.
It’s and impressive little dude to say the least. Almost surprising considering how small and light it is. This thing will snap a screw head off in a blink so be cautious. Great ergo’s, typical Milwaukee quality, which is excellent. Very light, which is a welcome change for Milwaukee. Just a joy to use. Highly recommend

For a whole deck, I wouldn’t use this but an occasional deck screw or hanging pictures, or any light work, this is a lightweight, go-to, workhorse. 166 ft. lbs. is not bad, but I would step up to the 600 ft. lb. drill for anything tougher.

I have had the surge for about a year. It was awesome for residential work. I now do commercial work and this particular one is super strong. I do love how quiet the surge is . However in the commercial field I love how powerful this one is (garage doors)
