I was born and raised in my dad’s shop and worked at a Dodge Dealership for years, currently retired. I have had and used the 231 for at least 30 years but when it needed rebuilding for the 100th time I saw this one while searching for a rebuild kit. Figured I would try it and Right off it had extremely slow speed, like not getting air. I tore it down and was packed full of grease preventing some of the fins from extending. I cleaned the gun and was better but would not drive bolts. Checked torque with a torque wrench after the impact gave all it had to give. It had a torque rating at 155 but at 160 bolts turned slightly before clicking. This gun is just not good for real mechanic work. I would not recommend this one to anyone based on over 50 years in a mechanic shop atmosphere.

Use this everyday while working at a dealership. Stronger than my previous impact, is lighter by about a pound, and is extremely quiet. Recommend if you buy this impact that you get the TiMax boot for added protection. Overall, one of the best purchases I made as a technician.

riktig nöjd med mutterdragaren, däck och framvagnbultar lossar lätt. Maskinen är verkligen tyst jämfört med andra maskiner, man kan blir lurad att tro att den inte har någon kraft Pga det. pistolgreppet kunde varit bättre, då den inte har gummi lr liknande greppvänligare material så den kan bli halkig när man är oljig om händerna.
låsclipset som håller fast hylsorna kunde ha varit bättre, mkt svårt att pressa och ta bort hylsorna från mutterdragaren för att ringen är lite oval istället för rund.
Min förra mutterdragare Muller är starkare men cirka 2000kr dyrare men än så länge har jag INTE stött på en mutter lr bult som den ej lossade.

I’m a full-time working tech of 20+ years. As you can see in the photo, I’m not new to IR tools; I also have the slightly larger 2235Ti 1/2″ and a 2115Ti 3/8″ (which I love). My 2135Ti needs a new anvil and rebuild, so I bought this QXPA to replace it as it’s the direct descendant.
Obviously, it’s waaay quieter than my old non-Q gun. It took a over week of use to break-in and free up, working fine, but clearly not free-spinning internally. The quality of the handle’s molding is unimpressive; I shaved it with a razor blade to make it flush and comfortable. It’s also a couple hundred dollars less expensive than my Titanium was, so there’s that. Weight-wise, they’re very similar.
I was concerned after reading some negative reviews that this tool would be gutless. It is not. Note the above break-in period I experienced. If you’re going by the torque ratings, prepare to be disappointed – they’re about as accurate as automotive fuel economy ratings with any brand’s impacts (yes, I’ve owned Snap-on, Mac, and AirCat guns…). The claimed outputs are laughable for all of them. Will it tighten lug nuts well beyond spec for anything 1 ton and under? Easily, but like any air tool, it needs both sufficient pressure AND volume. Available CFM is critical.
Having only had it for a few weeks I’ve yet to challenge this new 2135QXPA, but before the anvil wore out, if my old 2135Ti wouldn’t undo it, you could be assured that at minimum a big Johnson bar would be required to move it manually. Keeping in mind that that the “Quiet Tool” muffling lessens total power slightly, I expect this tool to perform comparably. So far, so good.

This is an awesome air tool for the price and the durability! I work as a mechanic for over 30 years and this is the BEST air impact that I have used! I have had this one for years and has held up to drops and still takes off just about any lug nut and bolts.

I use this impact at work. It has a lot of torque and I haven’t found a lug nut yet it won’t remove. I have owned a lot of impact guns in the past and this one is pretty decent for the price. Pleasantly surprised at its quality and price. It seems pretty durable. But I try not to throw it an around too much. Most of the externals are plastic. Maybe polymer.
