I purchased this same set in 2001 when I started my career as an Auto Body Tech. These sockets can take a beating, I use them every day from removing wheels to replacing a full frame or suspension repair. Recently gave my original set to a relative and decided to purchase this new and upgraded set. By far this is the most complete 1/2” impact socket set you can buy. Tool trucks want twice the amount of money for half of the sockets. Know that many, many professionals trust the Sunex brand and appreciate the fair price.

Exactly what I hoped for, robust and well made sockets for daily use (occasional abuse). As expected, the 10mm ran off promtly, just wish there were a more robust case option.

Sunex makes great tools. You may not have heard of them before however they make and rebrand ALOT of durable tools for many companies including major auto parts stores and tool truck brands. Sockets are heavy duty, they fit fasteners snuggly, and they handle business with ease.
This set is both stamped and etched so the numbers are easy to read, even for mature eyes, and will certainly last a long time.
I run them on both 3/8 and 1/2 inch air tools with no problem and they have yet to fail me and round a bolt. I will be purchasing more Sunex impacts to go with my Sunex jack stands.

I am a apprentice mechaic and been working around cars for 4 years and when the time came I gambled on these. Turns out they are really good! Now the finish is decent and yea if you abuse these then yes they will rust and everything but if you clean them off and treat them with some semblencr of care they are wonderful for the price. Are they snap on or matco grade…well no…but they are the size they say they dont crack they do the job…

I would recommend these to,apprentice mechanics or diy’ers they will stand up well to daily work with cleaning them and are fine just dont expect to leave them in the rain or covered in all kinds of s*** for months on end come back to them rust free. Very good for home or light farm use or for those training to be in the industry.

I love the high quality case they come in. I love the sockets. They fit my drive well, they were slightly oiled so none showed up rusty. They are well marked and easy to read. The case also has larger markings making it super easy and fast to find the size you want. I was impressed with the case as much as the sockets. Everything has a nice tight snug fit. Nothing comes loose by itself.
I liked it so much, I bought the 3/8 drive set as well and love them as much as this 1/2 drive set. This is a lot of high quality bang for the buck. You’re hard pressed to do better than this. If you spend less than this expect junk. If you spend more than this, your wasting your money.

These sockets look fantastic. And my research lead me to conclude that this was the best deal out there for these reasons:
1. Price – hard to beat $3.10 per impact socket ($2.88 second time around).
2. Warranty – Sunex warranties their sockets directly, and considers Amazon an authorized distributor. So you will have no issues warrantying them with Sunex. In fact, my understanding is they will warranty their sockets regardless of how you came by them.
3. Precision – Sunex sockets are known for being precise; you will strip less bolts with these (conversely some have warned that they will not fit some bolts that are already deformed b/c they are so precise. Having both SAE and metric mostly solves that problem, as some sizes are very close and can be used interchangeably but sometimes that minute difference is all you need. Secondly, considering bolts typically give you a little wiggle room to begin with, if these wont fit or get it off, you’re probably looking at easy outs or those twist sockets anyway).
4. Made from Chrome-Molybdenum (Cro-Mo), superior alloy to Crome Vanadium (CrV) for impact use.
5. Thinner wall than some sockets yet reputation for durability supports their claim of using highest quality materials.
6. The two included flip sockets give you a great dedicated tool for removing lug nuts.
7. An all deep set is great for anyone who doesn’t need or already has shallow.
8. Made in Taiwan – Taiwan puts out high quality, long lasting tools for certain brands, and these are no exception.
9. Only knock, and it’s a very small one, is they should include a 24mm. Every other common size is included with no skips between 10-22mm (plus 26,27) and 7/16-1 1/4. A 30 & 32 might also be nice, but I’d prefer to keep those with an axle nut set anyway, and 32 & 1-1/4 are interchangeable, so you’re basically covered there.

Our son is training to be a diesel mechanic and these sockets have been great for him. He hasn’t had any break and has been very happy with them. They were much cheaper than Matco or Snapon which was great too.

The way this set of sockets was advertised it says double deep, what I thought was extra long.SAE & METRIC sockets are ordinary deep, metric socket are missing 20,23,24,25 .was very disappointed and sent it back.would not buy this set.
