I purchased these jack stands after doing moderate research on various others and finding these having better customer reviews and suggestions. As others have said, the overall weld quality of these stands is superior to others I have seen. The welds of concern are those that hold the two A-frame base halves together. On cheaper/lesser brands it is apparent that the weld quality is not there. However, these Hein-Werner stands have excellent welds. I use 4 of them to support my 7000+lb GMC Duramax, and don’t hesitate to work underneath with these stands to support it That’s the comfort I paid for.
The reason for only 4 stars…The overall lift height could be more. I understand these are consumer grade stands, so the rise height must be accommodating for multitudes of vehicles. Also, there is a “keeper” pin that can be inserted into the bottom of the riser arm to prevent it from coming out of the base of the stand. The pin is too big of diameter to fit through the hole in the arm, so they’re useless….not a big deal.
All-in-all, I will and have suggested these stands to others! I don’t anticipate on ever having to purchase any more, but if I do I will be buying Hein-Werner!

What better review or endorsement could I write, beyond trusting my limbs, etc. to these stands? I originally purchased them for work on my 1985 Ferrari, based on reviews and the fact that they are U.S. made. I use them regularly under the rear main frame tubes and have nothing but confidence in them. The curvature at the top-center holds my frame tubes securely, without damaging them. The car weighs just over 3200lbs and I’ll be buying two more, so that I can fully elevate the car for suspension service and more. I would highly recommend these high-quality stands. Thank you, Hein-Werner.

I bought some $25 jack stands, but the welds were terrible and the overall quality questionable at best. I don’t know about you, but I’m not about to trust my life with some questionable jack stands made in China. These were much more expensive, but the difference in quality is night and day. These things are hefty, much heavier than the cheap one I bought and obviously made with quality steel. The welds are excellent. I also like how the “saddle” for the jack (the part the car rests on) is flatter than most designs, as the very deeply grooved ones do not work with the jack points on my car.
Yeah, these were about 4 times as expensive, but what is your life worth to you?

Safety stand base are built out of a heavy gauge steel plate with a foot print that provides stability. The center support is adjustable using a tooth/ cog that ensures a positive stop and support. The saddle center support appears to be a high grade casting with well defined ratchet teeth. Overall very high quality workmanship and materials are used in these stands. My opinion is based on my 44 years experience as a weld and materials inspector in the Nuclear industry. If you are going to bet your life that a safety jack will support your vehicle please don’t let the wager include China made junk. These stands are worth the money and you can feel secure knowing that you purchased the highest quality safety stands currently being manufactured and better yet they are made in the USA. Screw China buy American made.

From unboxing, to 6 months later (with frequent use), I’ve been happy with the quality of these stands. I decided it was time to buy new stands, when I noticed some flexing of my old ones. These are somewhat larger than other “3 ton capacity” stands I’ve used in the past, but that’s a plus to me. Wider base equals better support, everything else being the same. These are quite a bit more than other’s, in terms of cost, but my conclusion is that it was worth it. I replaced most of the front end of my truck(strut assemblies, upper and lower control arms, sway bar links, and wheel hubs) with these as my primary support. At no point did I notice any shifting, or flexing of the stands. Not bad, considering it took a lot of “persuasion” with a sledge hammer, and crowbar to remove the old components.
Whenever you crawl under a vehicle, you are trusting your life to the equipment you’re using to support it. In view of that, $72 is pretty cheap.

I absolutely love these stands. They have been used on a heavy pig of an R32, on an Xterra and a classic mustang. They are super solid I don’t lose faith that they will WORK! I always stick something under the car I’m working on regardless but that’s more of an OCD thing. I like the nice saddle of the stands great for solid axle tubes or control arm subframe mounts. I have had these for about 3 years now and save for some scratches here and there they still look good!

Excellent quality. Tangs fit perfect into Bar wedges. Lower stand portion is fabricated from 10 gauge steel then welded to form the lower section. The upper portion is fabricated from 3/16 stock. The iron portion is finished vey nicely removing all burrs and welding BBs is nice touch. I TIG 10 Gauge pads on the corners to spread out the footprint. Not needed but I tend to give my tools a custom touch.

Don’t be fooled by the prominent “Made in the USA” sticker on the front of this product in the picture. When I received my set the sticker was not there, and it didn’t say “Made in the USA” anywhere on the product. I thought that was a little strange since companies who do make a product domestically usually use that as a marketing tool. Then later I noticed a sticker on the front of the instructions that said “Assembled in the US with US and global components” that was covering up the “Made in the USA” icon. They apparently don’t make these in the US anymore, and they can’t be bothered to reprint the one-page paper instruction sheet. The quality of the product seems okay, but if you are buying this product thinking you are “Buying American”, think again.
