I am a Mechanical Engineer with years of experience at the AZ Vehicle Proving grounds. I run Mobile 1 in the KTM 300 Transmission and Royal Purple at 40:1 in the Fuel. 20-30 Hours a year on 2 Stroke 300 KTM’s for 30 years now and I have real time 200 hour pistons on this stuff before a rebuild. Current ride is a 2017 KTM 300 XCW with 3 years of riding 25 hours a year or 75 hours now and no HP loss. I will probably pop a new piston at 150 hours just because or 6 years of run time on a single piston. Yeah, This stuff works. BTW I finally traded my 91 KTM 300 in 2017 after probably 700 hours on the lower case running Mobile 1 and the buyer put a new piston in and says it runs great. Longevity = Synthetic, Buy a good bike and run synthetics. It will last longer than you need it too.

The Best two cycle oil on the market. Less exhaust smoke and small engines start easier. It is a little more expensive but those little sngines last longer without expensive repairs

Since I read the “sandpeople” review, and laughed, I will also state for the record that I do not work for Royal Purple, Amsoil, Mobil 1, or any other petroleum or substitute affiliate. I don’t have any hard, technical data. All I can tell you is I paid a crapload of money for this stuff, and it’s worth every penny of it, so far, anyway. To be fair, if I ever have problems, I will come back here and post an update. I’m thinking I won’t have any problems. So far, I have used this 2 stroke oil in my 3 weed trimmers, 2 chainsaws, 1 demolition cut-off saw, 1 limb saw, 2 Yamaha Grizzly 4-wheelers, and 1 Cub Cadet ZTR mower, all with zero problems so far. I originally bought this stuff because a synthetic 2-stroke oil was recommended by a book I bought off Amazon about making your own alcohol, rather than using a petroleum-based 2 stroke additive, because the synthetic products tend to behave better with the ethanol/alcohol than the petroleum-based. I don’t claim to understand everything there is to know about the product, all I know is it works for me. My devices seem to start better, run better, and “ping” less than before I started using this product. I think I paid like $15 a quart for this last time I bought some, but like I said, I think it’s been worth it. Oh, and if anyone was wondering, I had an old-timer tell me that back in the day, they used to put a cap-full of 2-stroke oil in his 4-stroke motorcycle gas tank when he put them up for the winter. He told me the 2-stroke oil would help to stabilize and protect the fuel in my 4-stroke engines. They seem to start and run a LOT better since I started running mixed gas with the RP in my 4-strokes. Use at your own risk, but it’s been working for me. Now, my rule of thumb, because the ethanol is so hard on carbs, especially when it sets up into “crystal meth”, lol, is to completely run all my carbs out of fuel if at all possible, if I don’t plan to use them regularly, also if at all possible. Somewhat difficult to do with a chainsaw or weedeater, but my 4 wheelers and riding mowers have shut-offs on them, so it just wastes a little bit of fuel. I can tell you, especially with Honda carbs, they are a bugger to clean, and an inconvenience to say the least. I’ve had better luck with Briggs & Stratton carbs not gumming up from the ethanol. After you have to take a Honda carb apart and clean out every single one of the orifices in the “tower” 2 or 3 times, you’ll probably decide to spend the little extra money, and just run your power washer, generator, mower,or 4 wheeler completely out of fuel like I do when I’m not planning on using it again anytime soon. I welcome any constructive comments if anyone has had experience contrary to mine. I’m very pleased so far.

****First, full disclosure: I haven’t purchased Royal Purple HP 2C from Amazon yet… I’ve been using a different vendor. However, I will be purchasing from Amazon in the future as my vendor has raised prices ****
I’ve been using this Royal Purple for 2 seasons now in my lawn equipment. I have an old Lawn Boy 2 stroke mower Model 6230 (32:1) mix ratio, a Toro snowblower 2 stroke (32:1) a Stihl Backpack blower (50:1) and a Stihl Trimmer (50:1)
For the longest time, I was using Lawn Boy branded premix oil in 2 gas cans 32:1 & 50:1. It was a pain to always mix 2 different ratios of gas, plus the Lawnboy oil is old school Dino oil. It would plug up exhaust ports, smoke etc. After a ton of research, I decided to try the Royal Purple and run all the equipment at 50:1. I have to say, I’m pleased with the results! The blower and trimmer run great, almost no smoke, start right up. Zero problems. The Lawnboy and snowblower, same thing… start right up, run smooth, way less smoke and no exhaust port clogging on the Lawnboy!!
I pulled the muffler off the Lawnboy and the exhaust ports are almost spotless after not cleaning for 2 seasons! I checked the plugs on all the equipment after every couple uses, perfect color. No carbon. No excessive heat. I also cracked open the engine on tge snowblower and Lawnboy at the end of the second season, pistons and rings look brand new!
Now, in all fairness, I also always run Non Ethanol fuel in all my equipment…I go over to the local marina and fill up a couple of 6 gallon cans. So it could also be the fuel thats helping the engines and carbs stay in good shape. I don’t know. I do know that the Royal Purple runs way cleaner though, and anything that helps with less wrenching is fine by me!
****UPDATE 11/26/2017****
Another season in the books. The Blower, trimmer and Lawn Boy ran great all season, no issues whatsoever. Everything ran again for season on Non Ethanol Fuel 89 octane at 50:1 mix ratioPulled the Lawnboy muffler off, exhaust ports still spotless. I’m sold on this oil…no question.
On a side note, SOME Oriellys Auto PART stores carry this oil. They stock one or two quarts at a time. At least the one store by me does. There’s 11 stores within 25 miles of me and ONE store stocks it.

All of my stihl and non stihl equipment loves this oil stihl says 50:1 so I remove the spark screens and run at 40:1 keep in mind that I know how to tune a saw. My modded ms660 drinks this stuff and loves it. You pull.the head after running this and everything is nice and clean with a film on it too. And it dont stink like the stihl ultra pond water junk.
This and Honda hp2 are the flat out best I’ve found so far.
Just sayin
