Box is exceptionally sturdy and has a quality rubber seal on the lid. A 250lb+ force on the lid barely deflects the lid panel. You could probably haul a 50 lb sack on the lid and it will never cause an issue.
The most important test for me was does it fit my helmet a visor? Yes, it does with the visor on, snug but no contact with the lid. Without the visor, the helmet will fit sideways and that may leave room to use the lid net to hold something like a small first aid bag or tire repair kit. Spendy, but definitely recommend for quality and to fit a single helmet, even with a visor.

Ich habe den Topcase gekauft, da mein alter zu klein war für längere Touren – da passte nicht mal ein Jethelm hinein geschweige denn ein Intergralhelm – und um die groben Behandlungen, die auf solchen Touren üblich sind, auszuhalten. Plastik wäre da weniger geeignet.
Das Ding is so stabil gebaut, es kommt fast einem Tresor gleich. Auch das Schloss macht einen ordentlich stabilen Eindruck. Wer also seinen edlen Helm oder sonstige Wertgegenstände gut gesichert wissen will, ist mit diesem Topcase gut bedient.

Beim ersten Begutachten mieft er ein wenig, aber das verflüchtigt sich mit der Zeit.
Der Boden ist wegen dem Konstruktionsprinzip und der Monokey-Mechanik ziemlich uneben. Der Hersteller hat dafür eine Gummimatte mitgeliefert, um dieses auszugleichen. Eine nette Geste, aber ich denke, ich werde mir lieber eine bessere Lösung ausdenken.

I installed this on my bike in December, and after five months it still looks like new. I commute on my bike almost daily — in Oregon — with no issues for the box. No leaking, scuffs, etc. It is very handy to have the space, and it fit a lot more than I thought it would.
Other reviews have talked about needing the key to open and close it, but I haven’t found this to be the case. If you unlock it with the key you can still latch it. It is not quite 100% flush, but it is latched well enough to stay in place down my 1-mile gravel road on my way to work. I only lock it if I’m going on a long trip or if I’m parked somewhere I want to make sure my stuff won’t get stolen.

The perfect size, with the Monokey base I swap between the R1200GSA, R1100GS and K1200GT BMW’s. The 52 litre Givi Maxi it’s replacing still works after about 11 years, the Outback is more sturdy. My Arai XD4 can be locked in without forcing the lid. Solid heavy duty keys and simple latch system function very good. Having mounting hardware on the lid for luggage etc. as standard helped to make it an easy decision to purchase. The top case was packed and shipped by people who care about the product arriving in perfect condition, thank you.

It is a good sturdy quality and very easy to install. It only took about 15 mins to put on the new plate and it snaps into place. It stays locked on your bike when the key is locked for the lid. You do have to buy the plate that is for your bike.

Mounted on my Triumph 850 sport. I had to buy a plate to mount to the bike so I could then drill some holes and mount the monokey rack. In to the whole thing maybe five hundred. One bummer is that the Triumph locks won’t work on non Triumph cases so I’m stuck with two keys but still happy with purchase.

First, I want to point out that the one and only picture for this product is the older OBK42, not the OBKN42. I’m going to guess that the ‘N’ stands for “new” (or whatever the word for new is in Italian), and the new version has redesigned tie-downs. You might think this is a petty distinction to make, but some accessories — including the backrest pads — are molded differently to accommodate the different tie-down versions, and will only fit the version for which they are designed. If you happen to want to order the luggage and pad at the same time, you could be in for a costly surprise!
The luggage itself is great. The fit and finish is top notch. I love the fact that it matches the look of the BMW R1200GS Adventure side cases nearly identically… with the exception that the tie-downs on the older OBK42 (which I thought I ordered based on the one picture available) were much closer to BMW stock than those on the OBKN42 (which I received). The interior capacity is great for one 2xl-sized full-face helmet, and a few other random items.
I mounted my case to an AltRider cargo plate with the AltRider Monokey kit installed. With the rubber bumpers properly placed, the case fits snuggly, with no slack that might otherwise allow for vibration or rattling. Just in case you’re wondering what adapter you will need to fit this case, the answer is: there isn’t just one. Givi makes a number of bike-specific mounting plates for Monokey, she they also make universal plates that may require a bit of fabrication and creativity to mount on any given bike. AltRider, and possibly a few other 3rd party manufacturers, also make Monokey adapters. Based on my experience with AltRider, I can definitely give them my stamp of approval for the Monokey kit.
As I put this case through it’s paces, I may come back and update the review. I have read plenty of reviews for Givi tank bags that point at systemic problems with zippers, but since this case has no zippers, I don’t see that as a problem!
