I use these to hold a rifle on the front of a quad. They are solid and have a reliable grip. Much better than other U shaped holders.
The release is fairly straightforward and use able, even in gloves.
Inside of the grips are a soft rubbery plastic, so doesn’t mark whatever it’s holding.

For years I had a gun rack on my ATV that had a small rubber “strap” that held my gun in place on the rack. These things are awful. They do not hold your gun securely and they break quite often. This one CLAMPS the gun in place. I absolutely love the design. You won’t be disappointed, buy it.!!

I bought these to use on the lousy rental golf carts that Dever supplies for Big Blast sporting clays events, they are not properly equipped for shooting since they have no gun racks or even trays for shells.
We were storing guns in soft cases placed between the seats, but if you read NSCA rules doing so is technically illegal because the guns are horizontal and therefore pointed at anyone alongside the cart.
These attach easily to the windshield frame and hold guns securely and safely in a vertical orientation, the rubber contact points will not damage your gun.
I did replace the supplied bolts that have Phillips heads with hex head bolts, that change makes it easier to attach or remove quickly using a screw gun and hex head bolts make attachment more secure.

I really like the ratcheting action & sturdiness of the holders.
The attachment bolt aren’t really designed to work with this type of install. I replaced with bolt’s easier to install vs the screw driver type head & locking nuts. Other then that it’s a great tool & gun holder for an atv are a side x side. I would have given it 5 stars if the bolts came with hex heads instead of a Phillips head.

These things are super tough and hold tight. This was my second set for my new Quad. I’ve been using these since 2012 on my Honda Ranchers front rack for hauling tools around the farm and into the timber on the back forty. I can easily fit my Stihl Com-bi-Tool power head plus an attachment into the clamps and it holds the great without any additional securing. My trails are rugged and bumpy and I’ve never had these clamps let go of anything. Will hold two shovels and an axe at the same time. Grabs right onto a fence post “slide hammer”, mine weighs 30 pounds. I’ve even hauled 4″ round wood posts in it for fence repair chores. Best thing about this type is there are no rubber straps to break or loose. Cost a bit more but well worth the investment. Oh, they work great for the shotgun as well, holds it tight without marring the finish, releases in seconds with the push of a button.

Built a sporting clays buggy from an old BOB stroller. Used the Kolpin Rhino Grip XLs for the top, where the stock rests, and these for the lower, where the barrels rest. Chose these because they’re easy to close and open and don’t require me to bend down very far. Quick squeeze and the barrels are secure. Push the button and the barrels are free. Note: these are big, much larger than the Rhino Grip XL, which was a benefit in my situation.

Works good and holds things securely. The only mild complaint I have is that the bolts supplied was generous in supplying 2 different lengths but unfortunately the short ones were too short and the long ones were too long. I had to cut to make work. This is just a minor point as they nice enough to supply 2 different lengths
