These are worth it. I use this to go walking in the dark. The lighting is great – regular light is bright, and I hardly have to use my bright light. The charge lasted weeks. I first bought a cheap battery powered one from the local store, and that thing lasted less than a week. I decided to buy a quality one, and this is it. Worth the buy.

I got this light specifically for the dual option for batteries. You can use the Petzl ACCU CORE Rechargeable Battery orrrrr 3 AAA batteries. It pretty much allows you to have the AAA batteries as a backup in case you have no way of charging the CORE battery. As of right now I’ve had this out on multiple trips and have yet to charge it. This is mostly being used at night prior to hitting the sack, reading a book or walking around camp. The tilt of the light is pretty awesome as well. I’ve actually slept with this around my neck with no issues as well. Brightness is plenty for a camp. Overall recommend.

I find this to be indispensable. It is comfortable to wear, does’t have superfluous straps, wires, compartments. Just a simple headlamp with easily accessible and rechargeable battery with awesome life. Although I haven’t tried it, the ability to use AAA batteries helps in a pinch. The battery life has been great. The max brightness has come in handy multiple times for a nighttime flag ceremony, scoping and setting up a camping area a night, or as a theatre light for skits during a campfire program.
I find the buttons easy to use to adjust brightness or mode. The strap holds its setting well. The entire light is rather light, but it has been durable for me (I generally care for my equipment well since I need to depend on it).

Security seal on the outside of the Petzl box looks like it was previously removed and relocated. Upon opening the box it looks like two more seals on the inside have also been removed and reapplied. Label on the bottom of the box indicates New but at this point I’m unsure that it is not. Product does seem to work.

Es una lámpara muy cómoda y potente, trae baterÃa recargable y aparte se pueden usar pilas AAA

Petzl gear has a great reputation, but I’ll admit I was a bit disappointed in the design and construction of this headlamp. The battery compartment is difficult to open and the battery is difficult to remove once installed. Instructions aren’t terribly clear in how to open or install/remove the battery. I suppose the latching mechanism is designed in this manner to prevent water intrusion.
PROs – Bright with multiple modes, ability to run on rechargeable battery or AAA, nice fit.
CONs – As mentioned above, a battery access is not the easiest.
Field use will determine if this head lamp is worth the additional price.

I rarely rate anything 5 stars but this seems like a very good piece of gear. I suspect it will hold up over time but only time will have that answer. The price was great.
Replacing a very old Black Diamond with this headlamp was a big upgrade. The control is easy to use and the light output is surprisingly strong. The tilt is easy to work and stays where you put it.
I recently used it to repair some wiring under a trailer and literally forgot that I was wearing it at times. I was rolling around on a creeper with this on and it was great; much better than a flashlight for the work at hand.
Low on this headlamp is almost as strong as high was on the B-D. “Medium” is more than adequate for working in dark areas and for walking at night.
For walking, if it’s a very dark night and other external light is are minimal, low is probably enough and red is an option if you really want to preserve your night vision.
High is very powerful; very.
The single head strap was different for me since the B-D also had a strap across the crown of the head but the single is comfortable and works well; it’s easy to adjust too.
I’ve yet to seriously challenge the battery life but so far the rechargeable seems quite good. You could always pocket three AAA’s for backup.
People who use headlamps a lot may have better choices or different opinions but, for the money, this seems like an excellent option for the casual user.

I had the older model for years and has been my go-to for handsfree illumination at home, work, and play!
Somehow this newer version is improved in every way:
1. Battery door 10x better – now weather ‘resistant’ – little to no ingress protection on the old version..
2. Battery level indicator – new and helpful to know when you’re getting low.
3. Glow in the dark portion added – perfect for ‘seeing’ without blinding people at night..
4. Headband greatly improved w dual adjustments – wear over a hat, bumpcap, hardhat, etc no problem. Old version was a single adjuster..
5. Actik Core battery packs provide all the light needed without separate batteries – same great performance.
Highly recommend this lamp and getting a spare battery core.
Enjoy!

I bought this for my husband. He said it is very bright, it is comfortable, it fits well, and the band is adjustable in size. He likes the large on/off button on the top and the adjustable lamp. It works well and he recommends this head lamp. A+++ Great value.

I just used this headlamp camping and it was great. Long battery life and lots of options for use. It’s high quality and you can tell.

it is a neat lightweight yet powerful headlight. Need to still test battery life at full power but it seems good. It is pricey but then you pays for what you gets!
