Saw this machine working and wanted one for our office. We host events and training’s and always need additional ice. The machine is larger than in the photos but it sits perfectly next to the refrigerator. Its quiet and fast. Everyone in the office loves the tiny ice nuggets.

Yes, it is a bit noisier that our smaller ice maker that it replaced but has so much more that we like. We like the nice large tip-out ice bin, quality, and size of the ice. We also purchased the filter and the water has a great taste. It is also easy to clean and sanitize with the hoses that drain right into the sink.

This is the second Opal I have purchased. We purchased the original Opal over 3 years ago and it worked great. I believe it gave out because I didn’t realize I needed to descale the machine monthly. The new version is fabulous, but has one problem. It appears to get too cold and freezes, causing ice to get stuck in the thingy that pushes it out. When this happens it makes a horrible screaming noise! It literally sounds like two cats fighting and screaming in the alley, and it won’t stop. I tried turning the power off, but, it just continues screaming! You literally have to unplug the machine to make it stop! To fix this I pour hot water into the water Reservoir and let it sit for a few minutes. This melts whatever ice is clogging the machine. I sent one back because of this and now the replacement is doing the same thing. I guess it’s just a flaw in the machine. It doesn’t defrost itself like the older version which is, what I believe, causes this issue. I still highly recommend getting the older version or the newer version, However I would get the extended warranty on the new version, as I don’t know if this will limit the life of the machine. They are great if you can tolerate two cats fight in the alley! Good luck!

We’ve had this ice maker a week and I absolutely LOVE IT! I’m not even an ice-chewer, but I’ve lost 2 lbs. this week because I catch myself grabbing a cup of ice to snack on. 😳
It’s so soft and if you add a little squirt of sugar free lemonade it makes for a little lemon slush. 🍋
My kids love it too. Makes filling up water bottles so easy. Fits perfectly in our pantry as well. Easy to add water and comes 99% assembled. I watched a YouTube video on how to clean it. Made it simple. Love love love! Thinking about ordering a second one for our lake house. 😍

I was nervous getting this from the reviews that I read. I was pleasently suprised. It is quiet. It can make the first round of ice within 7 minutes. The ice is not “wet”. It is easy to add water and it works wonderfully with Alexa.
I do wish that there was a hose hook up and sensor that would allow me to tap into my fridge water supply so that it filled itself, but it is not terrible withhout it. I fill it up each morning as coffee is making and that’s all I do each day. It wil take about 8 cups of water and that will fill the bin twice. You can over fill. For example, you can have a full bin of ice and then fill up the water reservoir. It will stop making ice until the amount of ice drops, then it will start making ice until it fills up again.
I have to listen for it to hear it. I have mine on a schedule with Alexa to make ice from 5am – 10am and then again at 4pm – 10pm. works great. With this schedule, I have always had ice when I went to get some.
Really satified with this product and would suggest it. The reservoir is nice, but I don’t have it and am not planning to buy it. Haven’t needed it. Wish the price was about $100 less, but I’m not fussying that much. Solid build.

I am in love with this ice machine! I live 15 miles out in the country. Our water is real hard so my ice machine in my fridge is a mess. Can’t get ice from the store here before it melts enough to refreeze solid in the freezer. This machine keeps up with my husband and I. I took it to a quilt retreat where 12 ladies used it for 5 days. They were in love with it too and helped me keep it filled with the water I bought. We had plenty of ice since we were careful and used it sparingly. I only use osmosis water in mine. The side tank is really a plus.

So easy to use! Pulled it out of the box, brought it to the kitchen counter, removed the tape on the bin and scoop, then filled it to the line with water and pressed Power. Ice started coming out within 15 minutes and when I checked on it a bit later the bin was full of the soft ice I was looking for! It’s not too loud. It’s not small but it’s not too huge either. My problem will be to decide where to keep this or the air fryer out on the counter all the time. I do have too many appliances—but that’s on me. Get this!

I could not be happier with this purchase. The ice looks and tastes great and it makes more that I could use in a day. It makes lots of unique sounds, but it’s no louder that any of my other kitchen appliances. I was surprised by the amount of heat it generates while making ice. I just made sure there was plenty of space around it. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
