Purchased this rifle because I always wanted one and because I have some tiny intruders that need to be dealt with.

This air rifle with H&N projectiles and the included scope is suitably accurate to 25 yards from the bench–as in it will consistently hit an area about the size of a silver dollar with a crosswind. I am certain that a better scope would improve the accuracy, but when I was mounting the scope I discovered that the rings were ultra-tight on the 1-inch plastic tube. So I took everything apart and re-torqued the rings to 18 inch pounds before sight-in. I don’t know if it made a difference, but I did it anyways. The scope bases are some metal and seem to work fine–I’ll likely retain them when I invariably replace the free scope. Optimally, one would try several types of ammo and pick the most accurate, but the performance I experienced with H&N 18 grain Barracuda Hunters is acceptable for my use, so I didn’t bother with trying a bunch.

The rifle is quiet–from a distance, it sounds like clapping two sticks together. It certainly won’t bother any neighbors, but it is a bona fide weapon for small game so all gun safety rules apply. The rotary mag works as intended. This thing is fun to shoot.

I’m not crazy about the safety lever being inside of the trigger guard, which is a style that is obsolete at best, but it does work as intended.

One final note–I wish Gamo would teach firearm companies how to build a stock. This rifle feels *good* in hand like a high-quality polymer, not hollow plastic.

This gun is great! It’s more powerful than I thought. It was very easy to mount the scope. It allows for a multitude of pellet types. It is relatively easy to cock. And it is about as quiet as a powerful pellet rifle can get. It was incredibly accurate to 100 years out of the box! I am very pleased with how well this gun is built and it looks great too. Like all firearms, this is no toy and should be treated with respect and it can do some real damage. Another great GAMO rifle and I recommend it.

The media could not be loaded.

ย Okay, I’ve shot this thing hundreds of times by now. I love the gun, idk why people think the scope sucks cause I can hit a silver dollar at 35 yards first try.

There’s just one thing about it. About 15 shots and I figured out that the little spring that keeps the magazine loader in place actually came loose and was getting caught and jammed in it and not loading the pellets. I can use my thump to move the loader up and just load it one at a time but man I bought this one because you can load ten and just have to cock it eat time you shoot instead of reloading each time.

All that asside without a doubt It’s powerfull, goes through an aluminum trash can thats like a half inch total of aluminum and when through 3 lids so idk how much that comes out to but thats just a 15 grain sharp pointed hunting pellet. I also have 21.34 grain target pellets which are massive and pack a punch, I hit a thermas and it almost went through one side and left a massive dent, shot it 20 times and it looks like it got hit by a .22 multiple times haha. These are bad pellets, crappy led pellets with zero quality control, now imagine what happens when you load a 22 grain grain slug in that sucker, I wanna know. Ill also try a 30 and 40 grain slug and see if it even fits or shoots accurate or strong enough cause it says a thousand feet per second but that’s probably just for .15 grain pellets which still comes out to a whopping 33.32 foot-lbs. But if we get a 22 grain slug it comes out to 44.1 foot-lbs if its going 950 feet [er second. And if we go 30 grains at 850 feet per second it we can squeeze out an extra 4.1 ft-lbs which comes out to 48.18 ft-lbs total. And maube I’m wrong on hoow much slower the weigh will make the pellet/slug go so it might be less or more so dont think i’m hitting these numbers on the dot, but I think if I put a 40 grain .22 slug in this rifle it will go about 800 feet per second coming out to a crazy 56.86 ft-lbs which would be 150 if it was traveling at 1300 feet per second which is about what you want to kill a white tail deer.

This is my first air rifle and first time shooting one since I had a hand pump bb gun as a kid. This thing is really accurate once you get the scope sighted in. Dispatching nuisance critters left and right in my backyard. I’m in the city so this is perfect – pretty quiet and powerful enough to take them in one shot. Squirrels have destroyed my detached garage and woodchucks have dug underneath it. Soon they will all be in shallow graves.

So I assembled the scope and took it out to shoot some targets. I loaded the 10 shot mag. Shot at an old can. windage was spot on out of the box. but just standing and holding the rifle, target about 2ft lower than my shoulder, it shot about 1.5-2 inches too low. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a chipmunk, which they have been eating my GF’s garden and the reason we bought this gun…. I took aim, about 1.5 inches high, and harvested the chipmunk, this was probably the 5th or 6th shot through the rifle and its very easy to hit your target. There aren’t any iron sites, so you need the scope. The one provided is pretty good.
For the cost, this is a great value. It has a great quality feel. I didn’t see any instructions in the box for assembly or usage, but its pretty simple and easy to figure out.

So far so good, I am glad I purchased this rifle and hope it lasts for years to come. I will be looking into other Gamo brand guns because I am happy with this one.
