You can get the SE-02 synth with Boutique keyboard for under $500. It is worth twice that. The possible sounds with this are endless, and unlike most new analog synths it has lots of preset memory. There are a lot of controls in a small area so they aren’t as high quality built as higher priced synths. Just get a padded case and try not to drop the synth and you will be fine.
Dana –
One of the smallest, most versatile, and cheapest true analog synths available. Great bargain, and it’s not just another clone of vintage gear. It’s great for learning synthesis as it’s deep, but not too overwhelming. Definitely worth reading the manuals and fully understanding synth terminology online with as well. I like it because it’s unique and really forces you to focus on it if you want some varied and complex sounds. Probably the best of the Roland Boutiques. Being charged from the wall, it doesn’t have any audio/hiss issues. Great product.

Excellent for sound design in music. Heavier and bigger packaging than expected.

I own many modules, keyboards and software plugins, and the SE-02 has quickly become my favorite. Stellar analog sounds and sequencer. Very well made and a perfect size for my purposes. Great MIDI and CV integration. Roland and Studio Electronics have created a beautiful piece of hardware.

It sounds amazing. It doesn’t quite sound like a Moog Model D, but it does sound like I imagine a vintage Roland Modular would sound–that makes me really happy. I really enjoy the filter and the oscillators. I would love it if Roland/SE would add a duophonic mode so you can play two oscillators at one time.

Fantastic analogue mono synth. Still just scratching the surface with it, but so far its sound is not a disappointment.
Dana –
Hey! One of these is a great 3 oscillator monosynth… But you can polychain them to add polyphony. Right now, I have a 4-voice polymonster; I plan on adding 2 more, and it would still cost less than the competition! It has built in fx AND patch memory, plus a small sequencer! “Fab-u-loso!”✌🏻😎🎹🌴🌞

Studio Electronics is an amazing company with a reputation for incredible hand-made in the USA synthesizers that are up in the $10,000 range. This collaboration with Roland has yielded the only true analog synthesizer in the “boutique” series and it sounds incredible. Very powerful oscillators & filter combined with loads of modulation options and a great-sounding built-in delay circuit. Some people have complained about the small/crammed knobs but I’ve never found them to be a bother. If you have any volume or delay issues with the line out I recommend getting an 1/8″ mono cable or 1/8″ mono to 1/4″ depending on your setup. 1/8″ stereo mini on the line out can have phasing issues.

Fett-dreckig-analog genial.Unglaublich was aus diesem kleinen Kasten rauskommt!!!Oldscool is back
Robert –
