These LP M201 Matador bongos set are simply beautiful! Nothing but flawless, shiny dark wood and heavy duty chrome hardware! I’m a beginner, with some experience , these bongos set exceeded my expectations. Great value!

I may have a prejudiced viewpoint. I love Latin Percussion. You know how there are Ford men and Chevy men, and so forth? Let me set this straight from the start: I’m an LP man. I have a Meinl cymbal and a Remo djembe, but just about everything else I own is from Latin Percussion (timbales, congas, cajon, guiro, claves, bells, blocks, etc.). I think LP products are your best purchase for the money, and deliver the most bang per buck of any of the major manufacturers. The beautiful finish on these bongos matches the 3-piece Matador conga set I have. But the sound is the thing. I’m not sure you could get a better set of bongos for the price. They sound wonderful, just like I want them to sound: fat, round, rich, and hollow, but crisp as well. If you’re considering buying a pair of these, I don’t think they will disappoint you. For the record, I play two or three gigs a week: one jazz, one or two rock and blues. These are going to be excellent for both.

was looking for a set of bongos that were professional quality for the studio but my budget was limited and I think these were probably the best value for the money. The craftsmanship and sound quality are superb! I love the vintage look and the fit and finish of the shells and hardware is really impressive. These drums look and sound even better than I expected. If you told me these bongos cost twice as much, I would believe you! If these are your first set, watch some videos on proper tuning before you mess with the lugs. They need to be tuned pretty high to get into classic bongo tone range and you want to make sure you tension the lugs evenly for minimal ring and to avoid damaging the heads. Highly recommended!

These bongos are awesome quality. I did lots of research into bongos, cajons, other drums, etc. I was originally going to get a cajon, but the quality for about the same price drew me in. Beautiful finish inside as well as outside. Heads are real animal skins. Premium tuning lugs and tension rings. I had a bongo set when I was a kid. Artificial heads held on with tacks. Lousy!! Now 55 years later, I can justify quality without worrying that Iโll ever have to replace them. Ever since my son started drumming in jr. high, Iโve been interested in LP. Always seems to be the best quality for the money. I have Parkinsonโs disease and my wife discovered that drumming is good for my challenge. Bless her!! My next purchase will probably be a shaker to compliment my drums. Thereโs lots of tutorials online to help the learning process too. Thanks LP for making such great instruments! Thanks Amazon for making them available too. ๐

Really happy with my new bongo.
Stunning quality as you would expect from LP. I opted for the Puerto Rico version because they were the cheapest when I ordered. Look stunning and sound great.
