Bonne facture et bon rapport qualité prix excellent pour débutant
3rd Day Believer –
Bought this for rhythm practice (I’m a keyboardist) so not expert in “bongo construction” (would love to be an expert in that). But these are heavy (I mean, they really are, in your lap), incredibly solid, and have lovely tone across the entire surface of the bongos. Very responsive, and a pleasure to play. These are also well-reviewed on various percussionist websites. Obviously not the cream of the handmade crop (think $1,000), but I don’t see how you could go wrong buying these as a starter set … one you might never need to upgrade.
btw folks, be advised: these do NOT weigh 2 lbs, more like 9 lbs. In other words, this is not really a “lap instrument,” and is certainly not a toy.

Great sound; excellent craftmanship; fair pricing. However, like many modern bongos, they are difficult to hold (i.e. – slippery) between your knees. Recommend purchasing a bongo stand.
Supersonic75 –
Quite good for the price. Sturdy, easy to tune, good-quality skins. They sound quite good. One can buy better (and more expensive) LP bongos, but I’m basically just a recreational user and they suit me very well.

Having no other ones to compare to, I can only say that I find these to be very well-constructed & sound good to me. The ones I bought were open-box or used & quite a bit cheaper. I’m happy with them. I originally bought another LP set, also used. When I loosened the lugs, I could see there was a split stave. If you’re buying anything that’s a return, be sure to check out everything. I’m sure Amazon didn’t realize it was damaged. I returned it, no questions asked & got the Aspires, which are perfect. They’re pretty heavy, so I’ll be getting a seated stand instead of playing them in the traditional way of holding them between the legs.
BenC –
These are excellent bongos in terms of sound and build quality, as would be expected from a company like LP.
However, beginners should be careful when choosing an instrument like this. Factors that need to be considered are the size and weight of the drums if you are thinking about playing them in the traditional seated position. These are large and heavy – the Siam oak making a considerable contribution to the weight factor. If you’re not a big person (whatever “big” may mean to you) you may find it difficult to hold the drums between your knees. Of course, you could purchase a stand which would solve the problem but add to the cost. To avoid this scenario you may want to go to a music store first and try out different drums to see what is most comfortable for you. Just something to think about.

Super good quality
The-Sensei –
I was a casual drummer for about 20 years and had a full set in my basement. I made a decision to sell them when we moved to a smaller house (no basement) in Florida. I missed drumming and for 5 years living down here I never forgot about my drums. So at an impulse I decided to try Bongos and bought these. I absolutely love them and are taking a downloaded course to better hone my skills. Musically this in one of the better purchases I’ve made. They are not cheap untenable and they sound really great. I play them everyday since I got them with many more days to jam.

Excelente producto, de calidad
Fernando Garavito –
El producto llegó en condiciones muy diferentes a las esperadas. Muy mal manejado el caso. Además, no puedo publicar la verdad de como llegó porque me rechazan mi opinión.

These are great bongos. Makes you wanna get better even as a beginner. I started on my friend’s set then got my own when it was on sale. Highly recommend for someone who is serious about learning. If you’re serious about getting better these are a great deal. If you’re not sure or shopping for a child then LP has cheaper options. 4 stars on craftmanship instead of 5 but that’s only because I know LP has produced even better bongos than these. But this is a great product.
