  1. M. Agnone

Excellent tone, with great zil movements. Not too soft, but not too loud or brassy or tinny either. I wish the grip were more ergonomic but nonetheless, it is not too heavy to hold and a great tambourine. Recommend any Meinl instrument and have their percussion shaker which is excellent also. Highly recommend!

  10. Amazon Customer

I just received this product, I am unable to write a full review yet, because the first thing that struck me is severe discoloration on the front. This is my first tambourine, so I do not know if this is normal and to be expected, giving it his goat skin, or if mine is somehow defective. I’d be grateful if anyone could advise.
ADDITION 09/07/2024. In the absence of a reply from either Amazon, or the manufacturer Meinl, I decided to return this item to Amazon and order a replacement. I am hopeful that the replacement will not be as discoloured or damaged, and the was an unfortunate one-off. I will update my review once the replacement arrives and I have had chance to try the tambourine.

I realize this tambourine is not used for PRAISE. But that being said…it sounds phenomenal. The aluminum jingles are delicate (soft) and bend easily if you are using it to play in church service. I do have to say however that the goat skin head holds up a lot better than tambourines sold for church services. I know this because I am rough on them and have busted my fair share.

This tambourine is light and the handle grip is great if you have wrist problems. It is a beautifully made instrument. Just sad it isn’t more sturdy.
