All good.

well, it’s Bach, for Bass. It is what it says it is. Would be five stars if the tab and Standard notation were not printed on the same page. It would probably cost more to do it that way but it would prevent cheating when working on sight reading skills. Good quality paper and printing also. Tab is notated for 4 string bass, not a 5 or 6.

Great collection of Bach tunes. Learning these pieces really helps with dexterity. However, I’m glad I can read music as some of the finger patterns in the tabs seem pretty weird.
Erling –
Great Reading Material. Clear and Solid.

This book gives both tab and sheet music that help you start visualizing notes, and tying it your fingerboard. Bass players are typically playing basic figures, but this material gives the bass an outlet for melody and a way to improve your playing quickly. The audio that goes along helps tremendously.

The content is excellent, great Bach pieces, challenging and fun. Would be 5 stars if the binding was better; it’s hard to make the book lie flat.
Cliente Amazon –

He wrote out these arrangements in tab as well. This makes it easy for those bassists who don’t read music to play Bach on the bass! Not only that but now that I can play a few of these tunes on the bass it gives me some really great exercises and an excellent workout. I’ve had this book for many years. It’s a great buy for sure. Not as difficult as one might think to learn Bach!

Not the most melodic of Bach’s pieces on the whole, but a good addition to any musical library. The tab that accompanies the musical notation could make you lazy, but it is useful for the suggested fingering positions (though I would not necessarily use them as indicated). Some transcriptions for bass work better on a 24 fret instrument played an octave higher. Not all of the pieces here feel natural or fluid with some of the large stretches at the bottom end, but nonetheless they are good practice and to see how the pieces are constructed chordally. The cd is a bonus, there is a lot of material here to improve your playing and range, but most of it isn’t too difficult and it shouldn’t be daunting. Bassists are deprived of the pleasure of playing melodic runs unless they go looking for them, well here is a little cache of treasure.

I loved that it has the tab as well as notation. Great workout with a metronome!
