Love the product and very durable I bought it for my son who plays in his middle school band. I just wish it was a little more affordable and more than one in a box.

Utili e resistenti

Good sound, but the sizes are off. They are much harder than they say. Get a size down from what you play in cane.

I first used a Legere reed on my alto sax — the Signature model. It was terrific — so I got one for my tenor sax. Again, a great reed, although I ended up getting just a slightly stronger reed for the tenor. Since they were so good on my first 2 attempts, I got one for my bari. Great reed — no soaking required, just slap it on and start honking. Response is outstanding — from high to the very low; the lows speak more responsively that with a cane reed. I play (primarily) in a jazz big band (usually tenor or bari), and also occasionally with a small combo. The Legere bari reed lets me turn the volume up with the big band, and then turn it down with the small group — with no loss of tone quality. Quite a reed.

With the price of cane reeds, these are probably less expensive in the long run. They are more consistent and play better than cane reeds.

Homogรฉnรฉitรฉ, stabilitรฉ, longรฉvitรฉ, etc…bref: parfait.

I was looking for something to replace traditional reeds since I was splitting a lot of them. I was recommended to try Legere reeds, so I bought a classic one in 2.5 strength and a Forestone bamboo-synthetic one, also in 2.5.
It just sounded a little too brash and rough for me; not a particularly pretty sound. Personally, I prefer the Forestone bamboo-synthetic mix reed a lot more.
Caveat: I am a part-time bari sax player in a community band, playing on a Chinese bari that was a school horn and treated appropriately. I am not an expert player, though I have been a musician for 60+ years.
Cedric –
Baritone is not my main sax, so it’s nice to have a plastic reed for rapid switching – it responds well, and plays instantly – no need to keep it wet. I suppose I could have gone for a 2.5 or 3, but the 2.0 is very easy to play.

Pros:
– Tone-focused, always in tune
– Durable, flexible
– Longevity is better than cane
– Better sound than any other synthetic
– High and LOW range. Great stability on the low A, and a nice tone on notes as high as you can go in the altissimo range!
– Handles pianissimo greatly, with a steady tone, and fortississimo with a stable tone as well.
Cons:
– Life is shorter than a Bari Synthetic
– Small splits can happen at the tip of the reed, but that’s after a few months
– Altissimo can be tricky depending on your articulation and embouchure
It is a great reed that has a stable tone and is better than cane in so many ways.
