This audio interface has great quality and it’s easy to use. Some people may worry about the plastic sides, but it’s actually good and stirdy. I just wished the USB cable was little longer

I’m a voice over artist and I recently made the switch from an Apogee Duet to the Solid State Logic SSL 2 USB Audio interface, and let me tell you, I’m beyond thrilled with this upgrade!

First off, the setup was a breeze – literally plug and play on my Mac, which saved me a ton of time. The buttons and knobs have a fantastic tactile feel. Plus, let’s talk about the sound quality—absolutely top-notch! Every recording I’ve made sounds crystal clear and professional.

I’m thoroughly impressed with the SSL 2. If you’re considering an upgrade or searching for a reliable audio interface, this is it. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

After a few missteps with other audio interfaces the SSL saved the day! Easy to instal and the sound quality/signal is great! One minor complaint is there isn’t a mute button on the unit itself but not a deal breaker for me.

As an audio enthusiast and content creator, I recently upgraded my home studio setup with the Solid State Logic SSL 2 USB Audio Interface, and I couldn’t be more impressed.

Firstly, the build quality of this interface is exceptional. It feels solid and well-built, with a sleek design that exudes professionalism. The metal casing not only looks great but also provides durability for long-term use. The interface’s compact size makes it portable and easy to integrate into any workspace.

The SSL 2’s audio quality is outstanding. The preamps deliver clean, transparent sound with plenty of headroom, capturing every nuance of my recordings. Whether I’m recording vocals, instruments, or podcasts, the SSL 2 consistently produces professional-grade audio with minimal noise and distortion.

Setting up the SSL 2 was a breeze. The plug-and-play functionality made installation effortless, and the included software bundle (featuring SSL Native Vocalstrip 2 and Drumstrip plugins) added value to the package. The interface also integrates seamlessly with my preferred digital audio workstation (DAW), providing low-latency monitoring and intuitive control over my recordings.

One of the standout features of the SSL 2 is its “Legacy 4K” analog enhancement, inspired by the classic SSL 4000 series console. This feature adds a subtle yet noticeable analog warmth and presence to my recordings, enhancing the overall sonic character and depth.

The SSL 2’s connectivity options are comprehensive, with two pristine mic/line inputs, two additional line inputs, and dedicated headphone monitoring. The inclusion of MIDI I/O expands its versatility, allowing me to connect external MIDI devices with ease.

Overall, the Solid State Logic SSL 2 USB Audio Interface is a stellar addition to any home or professional studio setup. With its exceptional build quality, pristine audio performance, user-friendly interface, and versatile features, it’s a standout product in its class. Whether you’re a musician, podcaster, or content creator, the SSL 2 elevates your audio production to the next level. Highly recommended.

I initially bought this product to use on my notebook and it works very well there. I found it to be very quiet I found the drivers to be very stable. I’m using it with studio one on a Windows 11 Notebook with Ryzen 7 CPU… I wanted a new interface for my main studio with more outputs.. I did a lot of research and decided the Motu M6 would serve my purpose. I install the drivers on my notebook plugged in the M6 and immediately got the blue screen of death. I uninstalled the SSL drivers and experienced the same thing. Rather than call Motu and deal with this that and the other I decided to send it back because the SSL had no such problems. I’ve since decided to order the SSL 2 plus for my main studio and keep the SSL2 for my laptop. sometimes you just have to stick with what works…. The only thing I don’t like about the SSL 2 is that its size is not really great for portable use. I would also appreciate an on off switch since I leave my PC on all the time but don’t need to run the interface….. Other than that according to every review I have looked at on youtube the SSL products have always come in the top 5.

Aesthetically I love it, it has an analog feel with almost a digital/modern day hint to it. It can handle intensive microphones like the SM7B and other dynamic mics. Priced accordingly and having the knobs on the top instead of the front is very convenient to me personally. In this price range, you’re looking at focusrite scarlett, uad volt, and the ssl 2 as the top options. I personally think the SSL 2 wins overall, even if it’s not the best one in every single aspect

Pleasantly surprised! I have had an id22 (clean but harsher / sterile), volt interface (orangey type sound, felt alittle muddy and also the compressor makes it impossible to stack vocals cause of its introduced noise! Unacceptable. UAD twin x (clean and tweak able but 4-5x the price of this ssl2) I originally wanted simply a way to use it in the car but the twin x demanded wall wart power. After about a week of debate I got this ssl2. Made a couple songs and I have to say I really enjoy it and it sounds musical. The converters are great I can hear translations in my mixes very well also. I had a L22 UAD mic and my uad twin as my primary setup. Go figure I prefer a dynamic handheld and the ssl2 now. I’m getting more favorable mixes with it for whatever reason also. Ssl2 is a dub. Only thing is the headphone out can be alittle low for some people but I found it just fine. If anything when making music just use some limiters or soft clippers and get that level exactly how you want.
