  1. Go Tigers!

Very sturdy, deep ledge capable of holding multiple books, pencil, picks, whatever. Nicely adjustable. Nice faux/laminate wood finish. Other than being “real” wood (which would no doubt cost more), I can’t imagine what you might want to change about it.

On a side note, as a very much beginning guitar player, I wanted to be able to see the frets in a mirror. (saves neck strain!) This stand even worked well for that, as I was able to slide the handle of a large hand mirror up through the bracket that connects to the back of the wood, then put a hook (made from a plastic hanger) through the mirror handle’s hole, and… the mirror stays in place perfectly, hanging just beneath the bottom of the wood. Lastly… I’ve clipped a small “rear view mirror” (intended for a computer monitor) up to the right edge of the wood, and it allows me to see the 6 strings over the sound hole perfectly.

So glad I purchased this stand. It replaced my heavy black metal one, which was unsightly and seemingly always in the way. This conductor’s stand is super wide with a deep enough lip that it holds my music binders easily, no sliding around or falling off, as well as a clipon light. The wood finish nearly matches my harp and dresses up my harp space unobtrusively and with elegance. Highly recommend.

    Pros:
    Lightweight
    Sturdy for light items
    Looks nice, professional
Large surface area for sheet music, handheld metronomes, tuners, small books and tablets

    Cons:
Horrible chemical smell from “wood” finish

I use a mighty bright led light which works perfectly with this stand. The “wood” doesn’t look cheap and isn’t as bad as I expected. From the moment I opened the box I was hit with a putrid chemical smell. It was on all the boxes contents. I’ve never had this with other onstage stands so it’s source must be the “wood” finish. I had to leave the stand outside for 3 days to air out but still couldn’t get rid of the smell. It doesn’t fill the room like before but if your close enough you’ll smell it. I still get “what’s that smell” comments from guests using it. I had to take stars because I couldn’t use it for days and may have to get rid of it because of its chemical stench. On Stage needs to have a better manufacturing process and not stain then immediately box their product. Consumers have enough cancerous chemicals in our lives.

I have had a lot of music stands over the years. This one is exceptional. Heavy Duty. Hard to knock over. Plenty of capacity for holding the usual pile of music. I can even lay my flute on it without fear. Only downside is it is not going to be portable for gigs like a lightweight stand. But for my studio, it’s wonderful.

  5. me, too

This stand is wonderfully sturdy–much more so than I expected for the money. Even though the legs are plastic, they are strong. I have had no trouble changing the stand’s height or tilt and having it stay in position. Even on fairly thick carpet, it is not tippy. The bookplate is the size promised and is big enough to hold a few books and larger folders. The only drawback: it is what it is–plastic legs and a picture of wood for the finish. While this is very nice looking, go elsewhere if you want fine furniture.

  6. me, too

I’ve had this stand since June 2021 and it is used for music lessons. My students have 1 or 2 music books on the stand at any given time, so not too much weight. However, the screw that allows the height to be adjusted keeps stripping out and I’ve had to replace it. Three times in two years! Poor design for an otherwise very nice item. Picture shows my DIY fix. Hey OnStage! Use a flip clamp post from a bike seat and you’ll have happier customers!

I am 6′ 2″ and this is the first music stand I have ever owned that adjusts tall enough for me to easily see my music while playing my violin, standing. In addition to the height, the size of the book plate is great… able to hold a lot of music without pages falling off and onto the floor. It is stable; would take a lot to tip or knock over. This stand is definitely worth the extra $$$, versus the less expensive metal, collapsible stands we all have had before.

I could not figure out how to put this together. My box had no instructions and I wonder if I was missing a part. In any event, it did not look as nice in person as it did in the images. it was very bulky and it did not seem to adjust in height at all. Was really surprised as it looked like it was going to be nice.
